Title? Tagline? Twist?
Mild Spoilers... Not sure I get all of the four and five star reviews for this one. It’s a pretty standard fare paint by numbers thriller. In fact, I thought maybe I’d read the wrong book because neither the title or tagline make any sense with what actually happens in this book. And it says there’s a “heart stopping twist” but unless I missed something, the big reveal is fairly dull.

Once I got into it, I loved it!
This was a really well written book. It took me a minute to get into it and embrace the characters, but I think that just shows good character development. I would have liked a little more insight into the day to day existence of Debbie while she was missing, but the point was clearly made. I just couldn't stand the narration for the little boy - it was always so whiny, shrill, spoiled, entitled. It could have been more gentle, like a small boy would be at times. But it was really good!

Great listen!!
This was a memorable listen. So many books/audios are forgotten or left behind, but this author, in perfect harmony, keeps the story moving and holds your attention all the way through. “The Narrator” FABULOUS. Can’t wait for the their next audio.

Excellent narration of a compelling story
The Next Girl was an excellent read. It was a nice introduction to Detective Gina Harte but the main focus was on the plot, which I enjoyed. The main story was compelling and the narration kept me so engaged that it was difficult to pull myself away from the book until the very end. I'll definitely be checking out future books by this author and I'm hoping she keeps this narrator as she is exceptional. I'm looking forward to learning more of Gina Harte's story as her skeletons are exposed.
