Most Christians today believe that God's promise to establish the New Covenant (Jeremiah 31) has been fulfilled in the Gospel of Christ. It is a shock to learn that the Dispensational world denies this, and says the Jeremiad Covenant will not be established until the Second Coming of Christ, at the end of the Christian age! In this carefully reasoned and powerful new book, prolific author Don K. Preston (D. Div.) demonstrates the dangers of such a view, and with careful logic and exegesis shows that the Gospel is now, and will always be, the one covenant, the only covenant wherein salvation is to be found! This is a devastating critique of Dispensationalism, and a Gospel magnifying work! A definite "must read!" Escatología Cristiana Cristianismo Teología

Helpful overview of one aspect of dispensationalism. I’ve yet to find a Christian who proclaims this theology to be “true” that’s able to articulate dispensationalism’s fundamental beliefs and provide supporting scripture (without grabbing OT Prophesies and/or distorting and/or assuming…ironically, the definition of dispensationalism often begins with “a literal interpretation of the Bible).

What I’ve gathered thus far is that it began as an anti-Jewish theology but over time morphed into something that allows Christians to believe that the nation of Israel will have salvation in “the end,” often times after a 1000 year tribulation during which Satan is bound to hell but “Jews” are tormented on earth while true believers of the Bible are raptured to heaven. I guess the torment will get the Jews to believe in Jesus as the messiah? And then Jesus has to let Satan out for a while and finish him and his legion off for good, then we have peace.

This is a relatively new concept within Christianity and I know it began with Darby and was disseminated in the scofield study Bible. I doubt there are any original copies of that Bible to see what was actually written. But it appears (so far) to me that it was meant to be anti-Jew, but was usurped by Zionists who needed to fill in a prophecy in revelation or couldn’t stand the thought of their Jewish friends being hell bound. Please note when I say Jew I’m referring to those who practice the religion of Judaism; many ethnic Jews do not.

My search continues but this is a good piece of the puzzle to keep.

Still can’t nail it down

This was nice, short and to the point. There was a lot of enlightening info in this little book, and I really enjoyed it.

the message of this relies heavily on points debated with other people. not exposition of scripture on its own merits.

the authors confusion of the Jews during the new earth has them under the old covenants.

The Jews after the rapture and before the new Jerusalem BECOME CHRISTIAN. Therefore all from that point forward is the new covenant. it also sees the fulfilments of God's original covenant with the Jews to have them in the promised land through salvation as they could never fulfill their end of the covenant through the law.

a debate of people not dispensationalism
