Publisher's Summary

Seventeen-year-old Cassie is a natural at reading people. Piecing together the tiniest details, she can tell you who you are and what you want. But, it's not a skill that she's ever taken seriously. That is, until the FBI come knocking: they've begun a classified program that uses exceptional teenagers to crack infamous cold cases, and they need Cassie.

What Cassie doesn't realize is that there's more at risk than a few unsolved homicides - especially when she's sent to live with a group of teens whose gifts are as unusual as her own. Soon, it becomes clear that no one in the Naturals program is what they seem. And when a new killer strikes, danger looms close. Caught in a lethal game of cat and mouse with a killer, the Naturals are going to have to use all of their gifts just to survive.

When will the rest of the series be released?

I really like this story and definitely recommend for any YA and criminal minds fans.
I want to know if the rest of the series will ever be available in audiobook beacuse I would love to read them to.

You

This book really surprised me, in the sense that I thought it would be a bit more "Scooby-doo" with a bunch of teens solving crimes Castle style (a whole lot of luck and intuition). But this wasn't the case and throughout the story you can really get into the heads of each character whose voices were read uniquely and were easy to distinguish (I especially loved the encyclopedia girls voice!). It was also really cool how you get into the killers head and that twist at the end was perfect! I applaud the writer for throwing me for a loop, which is rare. Very creepy, very cool book!
One last thing, I'm glad the ending was not a cliffhanger! True some things still need tidying up but it could be a stand alone which is refreshing for YA. I highly recommend this book to all my friends!

Really good

This book was good and you're on the edge of your seat the whole time. But I do have to say that this book is not for anyone under 13-14. It's good intriguing and a little creepy at times but all and all it was a pretty good book.

Not perfect but an enjoyable listen

Any additional comments?

There are a number of flaws in logic and some slight cliched teenage problems ( and, god help me, what looks very like a love triangle) but overall an enjoyable listen.

If you enjoy Criminal Minds...

It's like Criminal Minds academy for teens. I enjoyed the characters and the writing is quick and witty. The main character makes some questionable choices that can partly be written off because she's a teenager.

The ending was my least favorite part though. I thought it was a bit cliche. I still want to read the rest of the series.

I just wish Audible would add them to their library!

Exciting Thriller

Seventeen-year-old Cassie is a natural at reading people. Piecing together the tiniest details, she can tell you who you are and what you want. But it’s not a skill that she’s ever taken seriously. That is, until the FBI come knocking: they’ve begun a classified program that uses exceptional teenagers to crack infamous cold cases, and they need Cassie.

What Cassie doesn’t realize is that there’s more at risk than a few unsolved homicides— especially when she’s sent to live with a group of teens whose gifts are as unusual as her own.

Sarcastic, privileged Michael has a knack for reading emotions, which he uses to get inside Cassie’s head—and under her skin. Brooding Dean shares Cassie’s gift for profiling, but keeps her at arm’s length.

Soon, it becomes clear that no one in the Naturals program is what they seem. And when a new killer strikes, danger looms closer than Cassie could ever have imagined. Caught in a lethal game of cat and mouse with a killer, the Naturals are going to have to use all of their gifts just to survive.

Chilling!

Fantastic performance by Amber faith. I really liked the story, it is a thriller so I would not recommend it to younger teens. I'm dying to hear the next one!!

Too focused on the relationship

I really enjoyed the story, I thought the characters were pretty great and well written but the reason I wanted to get this book was because I thought it basically be odd teenagers being involved in and solving crimes their adult coworkers couldn't. Instead it was more "which emotionally scarred boy should I choose?" Although it was more tasteful and enjoyable than the similar dynamic/focus from The Mortal Instruments. I was pretty disappointed in the lack of mystery and think the characters gifts could've been better utilized and had more focus on them instead of only being used for plot development. I was hoping for a teenaged version of Criminal Minds if I'm being honest. Also on a slightly related note, I the FBI changed the name of the department from the BSU (Behavioral Science Unit) to the BAU (Behavioral Analysis Unit)
