Publisher's summary

The Narrows: A Harry Bosch Novel, Book 10: Booktrack Edition adds an immersive musical soundtrack to your audiobook listening experience!*

Booktrack editions are essentially a new genre of digital storytelling entertainment. Music and ambient audio are added to complement and enhance the audiobook experience. It is a synchronized movie-style soundtrack that complements the narration of existing audiobooks; the tempo and rhythm of the score harmonize with action, dialogue and the characters' emotional arcs.

FBI agent Rachel Walling finally gets the call she's dreaded for years, the one that tells her the Poet has surfaced. She has never forgotten the serial killer who wove lines of poetry in his hideous crimes - and apparently he has not forgotten her.

Former LAPD detective Harry Bosch gets a call, too - from the widow of an old friend. Her husband's death seems natural, but his ties to the hunt for the Poet make Bosch dig deep. Arriving at a derelict spot in the California desert where the feds are unearthing bodies, Bosch joins forces with Rachel. Now the two are at odds with the FBI...and squarely in the path of the Poet, who will lead them on a wicked ride out of the heat, through the narrows of evil, and into a darkness all his own...

*Booktrack is an immersive format that pairs traditional audiobook narration to complementary music. The tempo and rhythm of the score are in perfect harmony with the action and characters throughout the audiobook. Gently playing in the background, the music never overpowers or distracts from the narration, so listeners can enjoy every minute. When you purchase this Booktrack edition, you receive the exact narration as the traditional audiobook available, with the addition of music throughout.

Book track was a distraction.

great story. Booktrack was very distracting! please let me turn it off! The "soundtrack" with its many noises etc constantly "alerted" me to things that weren't actually happening in real life as I walked, worked, or drove while listening. Audiobooks shouldn't present a safety hazard like that.

Entertaining story and great narration

Len Cariou does a great job narrating another entertaining Bosch novel. It’s easy to immerse yourself in the story.

Delivers again

Not a fan of the extra audio and could do without it, but the book itself was awesome

Twists to the Very End

Another Conley masterpiece that keeps twisting till the last page, perfectly paced through the dark visions of a master storyteller.

Always attention grabbing

I would have enjoyed this book so much more without the background music. I found the music very distracting. Michael Connelly NEVER disappoints.

Story drags

Michael Connelly and Harry Bosch are my favorite team but the story dragged. The narrator is excellent.
This won’t deter me from purchasing books I have yet to hear.

Story teller

The narration by Len Cariou was not the problem, it was the sometime ridiculous, and always distracting sound effects.

Excellent performance and story!!

An outstanding performance by Mr Cariou and excellent story as usual by Mr Connelly. Only reason I’m giving 4/5 stars overall is because of the irritating, loud, and distracting music and other sound effects sprinkled throughout the story. They detract from an otherwise exemplary audiobook. Please stop adding them, there are several places where they are so loud they overpowered Mr Cariou’s voice and I had to rewind several times to make out what was said.
