This is the final step in the second lesson James Allen gives us in the book Out From the Heart! The Disciplines of the Tongue have been eye opening and this one is one that is crucial to moving forward. To change from arguing for the sake of argument to purposeful and good faith disagreement in the pursuit of Truth is the direction we need to take!

We are at James Allen's 6th step overall but his 4th in the Discipline of our Speech! We talked about Levity and Irreverent Speech and their importance when we are pursuing a Virtuous and Truthful life! This lets us be better friends, better company, and have better conversation!

Step 5 is about that desire we get to be mean and insulting towards one another! It is never an appropriate to be calling names and to be malicious with our words, and try to evoke a negative emotions from others. Our speech should ALWAYS be Useful, Necessary, Pure, and True!

Gossip and Idle Conversation are the topic of the next step in James Allen's path to a Higher Life and Spiritual Growth! This is a staple of todays entertainment and has become the common style of conversation we have with people from day to day. Take a listen and find out how we should carry ourselves, and our words!

We are now talking about the Vices of Tongue and the Discipline of Speech! The 3rd step suggested by Allen is to address the vicious practice of Slander! It fosters a selfish, insincere, cruel, and untrustworthy heart and character and essential to remove to make Spiritual progress!

This is step 2 and the last step of the discipline of the body in James Allen's book, Out From The Heart! This step goes into a problem much of the western world still struggles with and the gluttonous behaviors behind it! Lets fix this relationship we have with food!
