Pretty good mystery!

Good story, good reader, and it's a cozy. I think, dear reader, that I may have been reading too many pre and post WWII lady detective novels, and hence the lost star. I do hope for another nonetheless!😊

The mystery kept me going!

I had just finished another author’s
WWiII female detective series and it took several days still digesting and appreciating that before I saw The Mystery of Underwood House in my library and loving mysteries, I couldn’t help myself but to start this one. I had not read the preview as I have other books by
Clara and had enjoyed them.
It hooked me by the end of the first chapter and I was keen to find out more about Angela and her work.
The characters were well defined and well read, and I thought I had worked it out close to the end but I was wrong ! I thoroughly enjoyed it and am happy to recommend this mystery and others by Clara Benson.👏🏻👏🏻😊

Riveting mystery

Angela Marchmont progresses logically and steadily to figuring out who the murderer is in this very well written mystery. The narrator Elizabeth Klett has a great English accent and the ability to use different character voices. The ending is quite suspenseful. Once started you will want to listen until you too know all!

Love Angela Marchmont ❤️

A great mystery and great narration! I love all of Angela’s adventures and the portrayal of inter-war society in London.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story!

So glad I took a chance on this new (to me) author. The story is engaging and suspenseful, and easy enough to follow. I’m always looking for a new country house murder story, and this one doesn’t disappoint. The narration was lovely as well.

Meh.....

Have to say it felt like the author phoned this one in. The narrator was O.K, a bit blasé and I could never really "buy" in to her. It was an easy listen, just not impressed. Save your credit.

Just so enjoyable!

Between the delight of being whisked back in time, and the perfect narration, there is sandwiched the cleverest of mysteries to enjoy.
Highly recommend for a fun listen!

Loved this book

Found this to be a delightful mystery full of twists and turns. The period details come out to make for an intriguing story with just the right touch of lightness. I really enjoyed listening to this book
