There’s a new face in Sleepyside, and Trixie Belden is sure this stranger is up to no good. Too bad no one else believes her. But if anyone can get to the truth of this visitor’s real motives, it’s detective Trixie!

Trixie Belden hasn’t talked to Diana Lynch in a long time—not since her family got incredibly rich…and snobby. But the week before Halloween, Trixie and her best friend, Honey, spot Diana looking a little down, and Trixie knows it is time to put old grievances in the past.

Except the past is exactly the problem for Diana. Her long-lost uncle Monty recently arrived from Arizona, and Diana is less than thrilled about the reunion. Monty won’t stop pulling pranks, he is eager to buy lavish presents, and he constantly embarrasses Diana in front of all of her friends. Worst of all, he’s insisting that Diana host a Halloween party.

Monty may have fooled the adults, but Trixie is convinced he’s wearing a costume of his own. Can Trixie unmask Uncle Monty’s tricks and prove he is an imposter—or will Di be the one who is sent packing?©1954, 1982 Random House, Inc.; (P)2004 Random House, Inc. The Trixie Belden series were my favorite books to read as a youngster. I am really excited that at least the first four are available for listening. The narrator is mostly pleasant when reading the text but some of the voices, eg: Honey, Bobby & Miss Trask, are horrid! Even though I don't appreciate the narrator, I hope that more of the titles in the Trixie Belden series become available soon. What a great girl sleuthing adventure series to read ~ OUTSTANDING to listen to!

It’s a fun kid friendly Halloween mystery, like Scooby Doo but with teens. I grew up on these books and still enjoy them.

Fun

I loved the book! It was lots better then the boxcar children, because the kids get in trouble, and get scolded, unlike the boxcar children. Also, I really liked how in the end Mart turns up in the shower compartment! I shudder to think what could have happened if he hadn’t been hiding there. The teamwork is amazing! I love the friendship between the kids. I have six siblings and we are all friends. My opinion is that all kids from six and up should listen to the book. I wish that they would put up the fifth book

The teamwork
