Amazing short story

I received this book for free at my request but the opinion is of my own. Such an amazing story that captures you from the beginning. It definitely could have gone longer but Hannibal Hills makes anything he narrates amazing. His voice lures you in and never lets you go.

Captivating Story with Great Narration

I received this book for free. I am voluntarily posting this review and all opinions expressed herein are my own.

This is a prequel for The Clockwork Magician. It is a standalone story and can be enjoyed without having read The Clockwork Magician.

It is a whimsical, magical, imaginative tale with enjoyable, quirky characters. The story takes place in London - a different London than you would imagine. It is a fully developed world with magic, demons, interesting curiosity shops, and other dimensions which together created a captivating story.

The narrator, Hannibal Hills, was wonderful, as always. He is an incredible narrator who draws you in and keeps you entertained throughout.

Brilliant Prequel to the Clockwork Magician

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

This prequel short story features Professor Thistlequick participating in a quick errand which sees his caught up in an adventure that will see him confront demons - both literal and evil men who do evil things.

The setting is victorian steampunk with a generous helping of magic.

Eldritch Black brings you right into the story which serves as a standalone story as well as setting up a few chekov's guns for the Clockwork Magician. It's an enjoyable tale that asks interesting questions of its reader while still being accessible to any YA readers.

Hannibal Hills is always a delight to listen to.

More Interesting Tidbits

I enjoyed hearing more of the back story of some of the characters I heard about in The Clock Work Magician. I was given this book free in exchange for my thoughts and just as with each segment of tales draws me further into the life of the Professor. What a creative way to handle a demon! Great little story!

Hard to Follow

The reason I didn't give this one more stars is that the narration was so quick that I had a hard time following the story. It was as if the text had no punctuation. I loved Hannibal Hills' voice. I just wish there had been more pauses or breaths or something to make it sound more natural instead of a big jumble of words.

I did think the story was good. It reminded me a little of Lemony Snicket.

I was given this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
