After being denied admission to a Masonic lodge in Batavia, William Morgan secured a sizable advance from a local newspaper publisher for this work. That publisher, David Cade Miller, released this book after Morgan's death, presumably at the hands of the Masons. Sensationalism, it seems, has always sold books. Listeners with an interest in ritual and liturgy will be fascinated by Morgan's step-by-step descriptions of Masonic ceremonies. Ken Maxon is the convivial voice that brings life to this procedural material. On a contemporary note, the historic Mysteries of Free Masonry reminds listeners of the current anti-Scientology literature being published by dissatisfied practitioners.

This is not Morgan’s Freemasonry Exposed; I am pretty sure it’s Richardson’s Monitor. Reader has a pleasant enough voice, but has no idea how to pronounce many Masonic words, or even biblical words: HEE-rum-uh-BEEF, sep-POLE-kur, Two Chronicles, etc. I thought I’d get over it, but it just kept getting more aggravating.
