In particular, the Industrial Revolution provided the underpinnings of Europe’s societal transformations and decisively shaped the century, including changes in mass culture and the growth of democratic challenges to existing political institutions. This series of lectures explores specific technologies, most of which we take for granted today, to offer a general picture of the economic and social development of Western nations from 1760 to 1900.

Interesting and relevant
This was a surprisingly interesting set of lectures. I was not really drawn to the topic, having actually bought it for my daughter as a study aid. The course was relevant and fascinating. The only drawback is the lack of some kind of a written resource, such as a course abstract or summary, so that one can review the content.
