I was a good girl. I ate my vegetables, volunteered at the local autism centre, and sat in the front pew of church every Sunday. Then, I got cancer. What the hell kind of reward was that for a boring life well lived? I was a 17-year-old paradigm of virtue, and I was tired of it. So, when I finally ran into the man I'd been writing to since he saved my life as a little girl and he offered to show me the dark side of life before I left it for good, I said yes.

Publisher's Summary
There's punishment - and then there's vengeance.
Nora Sutherlin is in handcuffs, held captive by two men. Under different circumstances, she would enjoy the situation immensely, but her captors aren't interested in play. Or pity.
As the reality of her impending peril unfolds, Nora becomes Scheherazade, buying each hour of her life with stories - sensual tales of Soren, Kingsley, and Wesley, each of whom has tempted and tested and tortured her in his own way. This, Nora realizes, is her life: Nothing so simple, so vanilla, as a mere love triangle for her. It's a knot in a silken cord, a tangled mass of longings of the body and the heart and the mind. And it may unravel at any moment.
But in Nora's world, no one is ever truly powerless - a cadre of her friends, protectors, and lovers stands ready to do anything to save her, even when the only certainty seems to be sacrifice and heartbreak....

Terrible Narrator
What made the experience of listening to The Mistress the most enjoyable?
I LOVE Tiffany Reisz's books. She's an excellent story teller and her characters are complex, but fun to follow.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
This narrator was horrid. She confused her French and English accents so that certain characters were incomprehensible (particularly the editor's wife, who is supposed to be British but ended up sounding like characature of a Transylvanian vampire).
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Loved the book itself.
Any additional comments?
Come on audible, either get narrators who can do accents well or have the narrators skip the accent entirely. You're ruining great books this way.

Better than expected!
Tiffany Reisz's storytelling abilities are extraordinary. It takes a talented author to take a reader completely out of their comfort zone, yet keep the same reader compelled not to want to put it in down. I’m not always comfortable with everything I read in this series. I do keep an open mind and I am captivated enough by the story to keep reading. Not only was the story captivating, but I was invested in these characters. Having read a few of these books I thought that I knew the characters well enough. Nope. Not a chance. Ms. Reisz continues to surprise me as I learn more and more about each character and the world they live in. This book is hard to review without spoiling big parts so I apologize its vague. Only con: narrator's voice seemed a bit young but still did a decent job.

Horrible Narrator. Got a girl to do a woman's job
I am so disappointed. They have done a good job with the rest of this series. This narrator sounds like a 19 year old girl. Please listen to the sample before you purchase this book. I will be returning the audio and getting the ebook. I may have to go listen to a earlier book in this series to "cleanse" my hearing.

✫✫ 4 Stars ✫✫
Another great book by Tiffany Reisz! I love how all of her books have so much back and forth from past to present. It really helps you to understand and relate to the characters so much. I loved how this book wrapped up so many story lines. I really enjoyed how Nora's friends all come together in one place in this book and fins ways to like each other no matter their differences. I NEED more Soren and Eleanor after this one though. I'm so thankful for the White Years because I think I would have felt like I was losing friends if this one was it.
The narration is finally getting better in this series. After 3 bad choices this one was much better, not great but a much much better choice!

The Mistress is verrry Clever
This series has so many layers it is no wonder I stayed up way too late to finish.
Nora is much cleverer than I gave her credit for and Wes oh Wes he learned some hard life stuff in this book but I believe for the better.
I didn’t “see” that for the ending but I didn’t see it either I had a hunch.
Oh Kingsley I love how we now have the full story and why he needs them both but also his Juliette it really does make a whole lot more sense.
Completely loved this series can’t wait for more.
The narrator was ok again I am not sure, she does a better job with the French this time but not so much Wes’s accent. Still a good performance.

Excitement, kink, and a... girl narrator?
This is a great conclusion to a wild ride for the characters, but the narrator is WAY too young. I'm not sure what happened to the previous vocal talent but Ginger Cornish SHOULD NOT be reading something the likes of this. Her voice is entirely too young and it was creepy and gave Nora a 20-year-old voice rather than the experienced woman she is. That and the accents were just bad. Let this girl narrate the likes of Twilight or 50 Shades, not a Tiffany Reisz book.
The story itself is smoldering. Nora has been kidnapped and the main men in her life are scrambling to her rescue. In the meantime we get to hear some of the loose ends tied up and a lot of fun kinky stories. LOVE Soren, who is just yummy, even more so that he's just so unattainable as your normal love interest. Kingsley is brought into more detail and we get to see Wesley's transition post-virginity.
Part of me says get is asap, the other wants to recommend you get the paper version to avoid the narration - either way, this is a great end to a series.

O so good and more to come....yes!
Where does The Mistress rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Top 10. Love this series and this listen doesn't let you down!!! Love it!
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Mistress?
Not giving away any of the storyline...there is a time when Nora and Soren are facing real danger and confront each other with the truth...it is perfect Nora and Soren!
What three words best describe Ginger Cornish’s performance?
Improved from previous!
Any additional comments?
This is #4 of the series and one of the best series I have listened to. I highly recommend.
I was worried this was going to be the end of their story but there is more to come and sounds like a very interesting future for all!

Still love the story, but...
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
I have recommended this series to several friends. I love each character and look forward to the next book.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Mistress?
The different types of love conveyed in this part of Nora/Soren/King/Wes's story...don't want to give any of the story away so I'll leave it at that
How could the performance have been better?
This performance sounded like a teenage girl...compared to the previous book's narrator.
And 3 out of the 4 books in this series has had a different narrator, I prefer to have the same voices/accents for each book when the series characters are the same.
Did The Mistress inspire you to do anything?
slap someone :)
