  • Called to Be Present: From Italy to Switzerland
    Mar 18 2026

    Send a text

In this episode of The Missions Table, we sit down with Steve and Samantha Padilla, regional missionaries sent by the United Pentecostal Church of Italy to Switzerland. They share the story of their calling into regional missions and the steps they took in communicating that calling with their pastors and church leadership.

The Padillas talk about the intentional decisions they made when arriving in Switzerland—including choosing to live in the city they felt called to reach rather than in a less expensive area outside of it. Their heart was simple: if God had called them to a place, they wanted their presence to be known among the people.

Throughout the conversation, one powerful phrase kept surfacing: “Missions is about people presence.” Ministry happens when we are present—walking among the people God has called us to reach.

Their story is a reminder that missions is not only for a few—it is a calling for the entire church. As believers, we must be willing to walk through the doors God opens, serve where He leads, and never be afraid to follow His will when He calls.

In this episode of The Missions Table, host Nathan Harrod sits down with Pastor Mark Hattabaugh — Senior Pastor of The Pentecostals of Cooper City, Director of Youth on Missions in Florida, Global Missions Board member, and leader with Compassion Services International (CSI).

Pastor Hattabaugh reminds us that “you get the call to missions by exposure.” The mission field doesn’t start with a passport — it starts the moment you walk out of the church and into your community.

Together, we talk about how pastors can ignite a burden for the world by inviting missionaries into their local churches, giving their congregations firsthand exposure to God’s global mission. Pastor Hattabaugh also shares about Youth on Missions — a program where young people “pray hard and play hard” — and the life-changing impact of Compassion Services International in meeting physical and spiritual needs across the globe.

If you’ve ever wanted to get your church more involved in missions — through giving, going, or serving — this conversation will both challenge and inspire you.

In this inspiring episode of The Missions Table, Nathan and Tanya Harrod sit down with Sis. Maya Hunley, missionary and wife of the Global Missions Director of the UPCI, to trace the extraordinary story of how God led her—one small step at a time—from her childhood roots in the former Yugoslavia to a life of global impact.

With warmth and humility, Sis. Hunley shares about growing up during times of national turmoil, her family’s leap of faith in leaving their homeland, and how God orchestrated every detail of her journey long before she could see the bigger picture. From unexpected open doors to divine connections, she calls it all “a God setup.”

This episode is a reminder that the call to missions often begins in the small, unseen moments of obedience—and that when we take one step of faith, God already has the next one waiting.

In this episode, we sit down with Missionary Joshua Tingley to talk about the vision behind The Missionary Gateway Center (MGC). Originally appointed to Haiti, the Tingleys have been unable to enter the country due to ongoing violence and instability. Yet even in the face of closed doors, God has opened new ones. Now based in the Dominican Republic, they are pressing forward with a clear purpose: to recruit, train, and send missionaries into the fields of the Central America and the Caribbean (CAC).

Josh shares how the MGC is equipping future missionaries and highlights the nations right now that are asking for workers. This conversation is a powerful reminder that God’s mission never stops—even when borders close—and that the call to the harvest is as urgent as ever.
