Publisher's summary

A harrowing psychological thriller about a missing teenage boy whose mother must expose the secrets within their own family if she wants to find her son - perfect for fans of Reconstructing Amelia.

You love your family. They make you feel safe. You trust them. Or do you...?

When 15-year-old Billy Wilkinson goes missing in the middle of the night, his mother, Claire Wilkinson, blames herself. She's not the only one. There isn't a single member of Billy's family that doesn't feel guilty. But the Wilkinsons are so used to keeping secrets from one another that it isn't until six months later, after an appeal for information goes horribly wrong, that the truth begins to surface.

Claire is sure of two things - that Billy is still alive and that her friends and family had nothing to do with his disappearance.

A mother's instinct is never wrong. Or is it...?

Combining an unreliable narrator and fast-paced storytelling, The Missing is a chilling novel of psychological suspense that will thoroughly captivate and obsess listeners.

The Missing

Could not stop listening. The story is heartbreaking and enthralling. Kind of a sad ending but it was the way it had to be! Will look for more from this author.

Secrets and lies, lies and secrets

I was hooked from the first. Centering on a grieving family, author C.L. Taylor intertwines this touching and heart-wrenching novel. As always and in all ways, a favorite narrator of mine, Clare Corbett brings her skilled vocals to the surface and never let me down, as she brings each and every character to life. How does she do it? I’m always on the search for British thrillers and “The Missing” again proves why. A family emotionally searches for answers of a missing son. I never figured out how the book ended; indeed,it was a jaw-dropping surprise. Taylor and Corbett combine their talents brilliantly and I look forward to more. I’ve got a vast collection by this duo. Worth a cherished credit and recommended to the max. “Epic, I say! EPIC! EPIC! EPIC!” screaming from my rooftop. Grab this one now. You won’t be sorry.

Too much language

The plot was interesting, but the language was WAY too much and I lost enjoyment in the listen. It got worse and worse as the story continued.

Very engaging-

Great insights into contemporary motherhood. Kept me interested and engaged. With the read. At times the thick British accents were challenging to this American.
