Public relations pro Grace McBride has represented some challenging clients, but none more than the Soltero brothers. Their family toy business became ensnared in a legal quagmire when their new Christmas Wish Holders logo brought charges of trademark infringement by a high-tech company. An injunction would postpone delivery of the children's gift beyond the holiday selling season, erasing profits that traditionally support local charities. Instead of hiring an attorney, Ernesto Soltero takes the unusual step of calling on the Sacramento PR pro to negotiate a quick settlement with Stoyonix, a giant in the cloud computing industry.
Ernesto's son, Donte, a recent widower, embroiled them in this mess with his Amazonian-inspired logo as a tribute to the family's Portuguese heritage. Then his father attempted to settle the situation by hiring McBride, not-so-secretly hoping to reunite his son with Grace, a divorcée and Donte's former high school sweetheart.
Initially, the former lovers clash over style and personal history. But their unique collaborative compromise resolves the legal suit, while revealing the wish holder's mysterious power. The outcome rekindles their dormant attraction on a rare snowy Christmas Eve in Sacramento.
