Publisher's summary

The monsters are real!

Michael Ward, a vampire once dedicated to peace and harmony, lost his humanity when he gave into love—and other primal desires. Now, he rages and murders indiscriminately, and he’s on the run.

Cade Colter, along with renowned monster hunter Father Vincent Scarlotti, is hot on his bloody trail, and as Michael litters the Santa Cruz Boardwalk with the ravaged bodies of his victims, Cade must keep his own demons at bay if he has any hope of stopping him...and living to tell about it.

Sam and Dean are back?

No, it’s just Brooks and Cade Colter, but they sure as heck feel a lot like Sam and dean. That’s not a bad thing either you have to draw parallels when you see things that are similar but it’s just the hunting aspect that makes it close. Otherwise they’re very different characters.

This book is part of a series that I have not heard of or seen before, but it is a standalone book unto itself. That means you can enjoy this without having a clue about what else is going on or has come before. Which is exactly where I was at when I got this book.

Unfortunately, I had never heard of Alistair cross or his vampire series.
The irony of a writer of vampire stories having the last name of cross has not escaped me. And I am sure this is a pen name, but I gotta say it’s kind of sly.

The book itself is definitely a lot more than just a supernatural spin. Not that I wouldn’t be up a new replacement for the supernatural TV show. And while technically, this could work, I think this is a beeeast far and away until it’s self that doesn’t need comparisons.

The narration is outstanding I really like Jameson Walker’s portrayal of the characters and his ability to differentiate them in my mind as he spoke was very very well done.

I am now definitely very interested in the other books in the series and anything that comes afterwards from this point forward. This is a great starting point since it is a standalone and you don’t have to know anything about what has come before, but I guarantee you once you’re done reading this, you will want to know more.

Fangtastic! ❣️

Completely fell in love with the whole series of The Vampires of Crimson Cove by Alistair Cross, and the fourth book, The Midnight Ripper, is awesomely fangtastic! The narrator, Jamison Walker, did a brilliant job! 👏 He brought Alistair's characters to life with his alluring and addictive voice. I enjoyed the audiobooks so much that I purchased the paperbacks to add to my collection of talented authors.
If you love Vampires, ghosts, mystery, suspense, horror, and great storytelling, check out the entire series. You won't be disappointed. BRAVO!

A journey into another world

Absolutely loved it. Not quite what I was expecting but a very enjoyable surprise.
Tracking a vampire serial killer and the tale takes you into a world we don't think exists. But while listening you believe it does.
A great storyline well executed and with superb narration combines to
make superb entertainment.

Not for me

This was a gifted audio to me. I didn’t realise it was part of a series but 100% could be read as a stand alone I believe.
The audio I actually enjoyed but the storyline didn’t hit home for me. I did get through the story but it was a push.
