Acerca de esta escucha
For millennia, sailors have told stories of the sea. Moye’s stories are an autobiographical account based on comprehensive journals he maintained while aboard the USS Manitowoc. This factual account details experiences ranging from tragic to euphoric…sometimes on the same day.
This recounting shares not only the master chief’s life but the lives of his shipmates, capturing an unmatched historical rendering of Navy life in a bygone era. This book is required reading for anyone interested in the Navy, personal growth, happiness, failure, and success. Those stories are all here.
This is the first of a series of books telling the Master Chief’s Sea Stories that detail his 27-year U.S. Navy career during a time when much was expected and accepted.
Hey—listen to this one, it’s a no-shitter.

very detailed
this is a very interesting book of the Chiefs experiences at his first command. The virtual voice was pretty good but there was some irritating pads where you were able to differentiate from an actual actor. overall very good.

An Intriguing Story About the Life of a Sailor
Stories about sailors fighting wars are abundant. John Moye paints a rare picture of the more mundane aspects of a sailor's life in the post-Viet Nam era. With lively scenes of the interactions among and by the sailors, the book holds one's interest throughout. The virtual narration is surprisingly good, although one hears things like "one thousand three hundred fifteen hours" instead of "thirteen fifteen hours," which is a bit annoying.
One complaint about the production: When listening through the web browser, there are no track breaks--it is all one stream of talk. This makes it difficult to go back a chapter or two if you missed something.
