The gruesome murders of three little girls on the beach of a peaceful English seaside town frighten the community and baffle the police.

When London-based private detective Tammy Pierre is hired by the father of the girls – who’s been targeted immediately as the prime suspect – she runs up against a lack of evidence and hostility from the police. New suspects emerge, more bodies are found, as the case keeps getting more complicated.

And Tammy’s personal life follows suit, with her frequent trips back and forth between London and Lyme Regis, the pressures of trying to unravel the mystery, and her own indecision leave her neglecting those she loves. Throw in an attack on Tammy herself and a series of threats to drop the case and she’s at her wits end.

Can she find the killer (or killers), avoid becoming a victim, and repair her faltering relationships?

Set in London, the story opens up with the gruesome murders of 3 littles girls-sisters-found on the beach of a small idyllic, peaceful seaside London town. These senseless murders has shook and baffled this community and the big questions are Why and Who. The FMC is Tammy Pierre, a 6 ft, statuesque mohawk wearing PI who has been hired to solve this case. The book takes us on a whirlwind journey of not only who the usual suspects might be but through a cacophony of not so usual suspects. Author Andrew Segal also builds Tammy's character taking us through her personal indecisiveness between her relationships with Ginny and Dove. There's a continuous grasping of straws to solve these senseless murders. I appreciated listening to this book 1 in a series of 4 as it afforded me vivid pictures of all of the characters to include the landscape setting. i highly recommend!

I loved this first audiobook from author Andrew Segal for the Tammy Pierre Murder Mystery Thrillers series! The story was great, a thoroughly enjoyable read, and the main character so complex and flawed. The narration was so well done! Loved it all-around and highly recommend!

A deeply detailed and twisty tale

This crime thriller opens fast. Three children are found murdered in Lyme Regis. Tammy Pierre, a PI, joins the case. The town has few suspects and no motives that make sense.

The tension rises when Tammy realizes someone is targeting her at the same time. She is juggling the case, personal threats, and a strained love triangle. The emotional weight is constant.

The investigation stalls in the middle, which fits real procedure. When a suspect appears, it feels solid. It is not. The real twist hits at the end. The reveal ties the child murders and the attacks on Tammy. I was caught off-guard, but the logic fit. I also didn’t expect how Tammy’s life turned out either!

Michael Coleman’s narration is strong. Each character has a clear voice and distinct tone.

If you want a grounded crime thriller with procedural beats, emotional strain, and a late twist, this is a solid pick.
