Publisher's summary

In his 14th book, best-selling author Nicholas Sparks tells the unforgettable story of a man whose brushes with death lead him to the love of his life.

After U.S. Marine Logan Thibault finds a photograph of a smiling young woman buried in the dirt during his tour of duty in Iraq, he experiences a sudden streak of luck - winning poker games and even surviving deadly combat. Only his best friend, Victor, seems to have an explanation for his good fortune: the photograph - his lucky charm.

Back home in Colorado, Thibault can't seem to get the woman in the photograph out of his mind and he sets out on a journey across the country to find her. But Thibault is caught off guard by the strong attraction he feels for the woman he encounters in North Carolina - Elizabeth, a divorced mother - and he keeps the story of the photo, and his luck, a secret. As he and Elizabeth embark upon a passionate love affair, his secret soon threatens to tear them apart - destroying not only their love, but also their lives.

Filled with tender romance and terrific suspense, The Lucky One is an unforgettable story about the surprising paths our lives often take and the power of fate to guide us to true and everlasting love. Booktrack editions are essentially a new genre of digital storytelling entertainment. Music and ambient audio are added to complement and enhance the audiobook experience. It is a synchronized movie-style soundtrack that complements the narration of existing audiobooks; the tempo and rhythm of the score harmonize with action, dialogue and the characters' emotional arcs.

Lucky One

Great Love Story, I loved the boy and the dog in this one. Slight twist at the end and a little slow at times but enjoyable. I like Sparks, the music was not overwhelming and in some parts added to the story. The narrator was great in his role however not so good as a woman:). Overall I really enjoyed it.

such a great story

I had been wanting to listen to a booktrack edition for a long time. I'm glad I chose this one. The music and background sound didnt detract from the reading at all and really enhanced the listening experience. Although the narrator was a bit wierd when it came to girl voices and the accents it was easy to overlook.

Good story, drop the music.

Good story. Good narration . I could have enjoyed it more without the music. Background music and noises are unnecessary with a well written story.

Background music!

I would have enjoyed this book a lot more without the ”very distracting” background music.
I don’t think I would recommend this audible book for this reason and also the story was too easy to figure out the ending.

Fan of Nicholas Sparks

Tried to get into reading this book 3 times. Finally on the 4th attempt, I made myself listen to it and on the 6th chapter, I decided that it wasn’t going to be so bad. Held my attention from then on out. Not sure if it was the narrator or what..
