Publisher's summary

The Dark Angels and the Night Lords fought one another to a bloody stalemate during the Thramas Crusade and, though the Lion eventually claimed victory, it left both Legions scattered and under-strength. Jago Sevatarion, First Captain of the Night Lords, languishes in a gaol cell in the heart of Ultramar. Far from a spent force, the Night Lords must consider where their loyalties lie, and what path they will take in the days and months to come.

Quick and Dark

It’s a really good quick read. Highlighting a key character. Night lords provide darkness and depth.

Must listen for any 40k fan.

All warhammer 40k books written by demski-bowden are great listens/reads. I've listened to this one almost as much as I've listened to the darth bane trilogy. Point is its good especially for the price. Actually ended up buying it twice. Once on black library and here.

I don't consider money spent on books a bad investment.

a stand out story in an age of heroes.

I had to stop my bike ride to rate this book. Not only is this required for Jago Sevatarion's lore it is required to see shining nobility from a face of darkness. A noble blood angels or imperial fist is not special, they are all that way but there is something to be said about the nobility in the darker legions. it shines so much brighter than in the former. This is the rebirth of Sevatar into something greater than all his parts. The real batman of 40k gets his origin here. I only hope we see future stories about Sevatar and find out his whereabouts.ADB alludes to the Space Sharks 🦈 but that could just be flavor.

One of the best Horus Heresy audio dramas I’ve ever listened to.

While I love most of the Horus Heresy books, I began to think that their audio dramas and short stories left more to be desired. That was until I was recommended The Long Night. This has changed my opinion on the audio dramas and I’ve begun to listen to more of them. I absolutely loved this and will recommend this to more of my friends in the hobby.

HE'S BATMAN AND HAS A BIG OLE HEADACHE 13/10

Anytime you see ABD and Jonathon Keeble together, you know some stuff is about to go down and it sure does. The quality of these 42 minutes are a treasure! Voice acting, writing, they even added background music and noises! Every traitorous fan boy needs to have a listen.

Absolutely captivating

The performance and writing are superb. If you're looking for a story that will create vivid scenes in your head while entrancing you with stellar acting and performance, this is it. It was a story that gripped me tightly and by the end, I was hoping it would never let me go. I cannot commend the performers enough for bringing the characters to life. Their acting was instrumental to taking a great short story and elevating it past amazing.

Slow Start, Good Ending

Has a slow start, a difficult scene in the middle, but an excellent ending. 7.5/10.

GW we need more Night Lords content like this. ADB proving himself a master writer of the 40k universe, once again.

sevatar..... this short made me like him.

this went a long way to explain him...and made him perversely likable. for all his flaws he is a man who believed he was doing what was right even though it was horrible.
