It is bitterly cold, and the Little Match Girl is walking the icy streets in bare feet, trying to sell just one box of matches so she can go home and get warm. But no one wants to buy....

A magical retelling of the classic tale, read by Tamsin Greig.

This was beautifully and simply written. Full of pathos but all so very believable. It did not disappoint in the least. The reader was good.

As a little girl this was my favorite story! Haven’t heard it in 70 years!

Since a child, I’ve fancied this book and it’s depressing yet colorful narrative. Hans Christian Andersen painted the harsh cold reality of the hard times on a canvas ever so enchanting.

This audiobook’s narration shows a flawless performance of The Little Match Girl and it’s unfortunate chain of events.

The only complaint I have is that this exquisitely written short story wasn’t any longer, but then again it’s in the name: “short”.

Phenomenal narrative with a marvelous narration. Highly recommend!

The ending was not how I thought it would be. Pretty sad, but good I guess. The voice was ok.

The Little Match Girl . . . it gets to me EVERY SINGLE TIME . . . the cruelty, the harshness of the winter, the poverty, the innocence of childhood, the obedient little girl trying her best . . . this short retelling of Hans Christian Andersen's story hit me just as hard . . . the precious little child is cold no more, gone to her eternal home . . . and to her grandmother.
