Publisher's Summary

Penguin presents the audiobook edition of The Little Book of Lykke written and read by Meik Wiking.

Lykke (Luu-kah) (n): Happiness

It's easy to see why Denmark is often called the world's happiest country. Not only do they have equal parental leave for men and women, free higher education and trains that run on time, but they burn more candles per household than anywhere else.

So nobody knows more about happiness - what the Danes call lykke - than Meik Wiking, CEO of the Happiness Research Institute in Copenhagen and author of the best-selling sensation The Little Book of Hygge. But he believes that, whilst we can certainly learn a lot from the Danes about finding fulfilment, the keys to happiness are actually buried all around the globe.

In this captivating audiobook, he takes us on a treasure hunt to unlock the doors to inner fulfilment. From how we spend our precious time, to how we relate to our neighbours and cook dinner, he gathers evidence, stories and tips from the very happiest corners of the planet. This is the ultimate guide to how we can all find a little more lykke in our lives.

Heart warming and inspiring

This book is full of hope and optimism and resonated so deeply with me it brought tears to my eyes. It is a book about love and kindness and how looking after each other can bring us great joy and happiness. Read it if you feel you have lost your way in life.

Simple useful tips

Neil Wiking lives and exemplifies it. And why not, small acts of kindness reward not only the recipient, they also reward the giver. As Mike describes a crime prone district in Fremantle and how the burgers there turned it around, one gets almost envious of the community they have created. Makes you want to take action right here and now, where you live or work or otherwise spend your time.

Excellent Book all round!

Would you consider the audio edition of The Little Book of Lykke to be better than the print version?

Personally, I am a busy mum and I don't have the time to sit much and read anymore, so I use audible while I am doing my housework or walking to collect the kids! But I have to say I do love the feel and smell of a book and I will also be purchasing this book in print format too!

Have you listened to any of Meik Wiking’s other performances? How does this one compare?

I have downloaded the parent one but haven't listened to it yet!

Meik has done his research

Mike's Voice was engaging and I like that Danes know they are not perfect. some good ideas like volunteering and plenty of tips in each chapter.

Insightful case studies and practical lessons on happiness

Easily the best book on happiness I have ever read. The case studies are wonderfully presented and there are so many interesting stories shared in this book. The best thing for me was that on top of all the great stories it’s full of simple, practical advice to help make yourself and the world a more happy place.

Another wonderful book from Meik Wiking

I'm starting to think Meik Wiking is a modern day hero. This book is uplifting, inspiring and a joy to listen to.

Stopped listening after chapter 2

I listened to this droll for two chapters and could not stand it any longer. I'm failing to see any relevance to the proposed synopsis here. All I seen to bee listening to is Meik translate his spoken language into English meaning. Certainly has nothing to do with happiness
