Two years in MBA school won't teach you how to double the market's return. Two hours with The Little Book That Beats the Market will.

In The Little Book, Joel Greenblatt does more than simply set out the basic principles for successful stock market investing. He provides a "magic formula" that is easy to use and makes buying good companies at bargain prices automatic. Though the formula has been extensively tested and is a breakthrough in the academic and professional world, Greenblatt explains it using sixth grade math, plain language, and humor. You'll learn how to use this low risk method to beat the market and professional managers by a wide margin. You'll also learn how to view the stock market, why success eludes almost all individual and professional investors, and why the formula will continue to work even after everyone "knows" it.

I'm giving 5 stars because the book is what it is so not knocking it. But just know it's grade school trading information.

I really enjoyed this book and feel it helps the small investor find value stocks for the long term. just be aware that companies selling at a value can continue to go down before they go up . long term outlook and short term discipline is required. have faith and believe you in your strategy.

There’s a certain point during this book where I believed I could achieve anything. I’ve had that same feeling about only 2 other books in my life, Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill, as well as How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie. Any investor who isn’t necessarily interested in getting their hands dirty, but is still interested in outperforming the market (mark the difference between that and always having a positive year every year, which you will not. No one will, not even Warren Buffet) and has at least a 3 year time-horizon for their investments will greatly benefit from this book.

Excellent for Beginners

Extremely well narrated and provides you with a sufficient background and explanations before delving into a concrete, detailed set up.

Surprisingly useful, a must listen
