Short and fun.

Short, amusing stories that make for an easy listening. Each story still has the Christie charm.

Easy listening well narrated

Christie’s personages are cartoon characters, and rarely attractive in their appalling superficiality, selfishness and prejudices. From time to time I find not only the people who are represented (who are satirised) but also the narrative voice shocking (which is likely to be closer to the author’s own views).
At least you can be sure that you won’t be faced with excessive violence or explicit sex at bedtime, even if your socialist soul is shaken by the snobbery, xenophobia, anti-intellectualism, antisemitism and colonialism of her world.
It’s trivial stuff, entertaining but now and again I feel guilty for listening, when the authorial voice goes beyond mocking her compatriot English.

This has some real gems of short stories

Dont be put off by the first story which is quite soppy. There are a lot of really fantastic short stories here which have awesome surprise endings which will have you hitting the rewind button to listen again.
