Interesting but Mechanically Read

For those inclined to this sort of read, this is a very informative book. The performance... that's the weak spot. Shiela Book's voice is pleasing and clear, but she reads so mechanically that it feels like you're back in school and the teacher calls on one of the students to read aloud. She. Reads. Like. This. Once you get used to it, it's easy enough to pay closer attention to the material, but it takes a little extra effort.

Excellent!

I love this author!!! She's amazing! I bought her book "Lightworkers" and returned it due to the narrator. I changed the speed of it and it was perfect! I regret returning the first one because the info was better than any book I've listened to in a long time. I'll have to "re-buy" it. Great find!

A Regurgitation of the same Old New Age Stuff

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

As far as a listening experience, the quality of the recording was fine. I suppose I expected more out of the content and a bit more natural voice narration.

Would you ever listen to anything by Sahvanna Arienta again?

Probably not.

How could the performance have been better?

The performance was nice and clear but the intonation and mechanization of the voice made the book sound a bit like sitting around elementary school and hearing the teacher read a book to the kids. Just did not have that personal genuine quality to it.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Lightworker's Source?

I am not the writer and I think the writer tried to make this book for a beginner. But for being an advanced topic of light work and light source, I would have skipped the how-to meditation, how to work on your chakras, how to learn from your dreams, etc. It seems to me these topics are fully covered in other books far more thoroughly and to try and capture everything in one, while only touching a tad here and there, makes the book somewhat mediocre. I expected deeper insights but there were none. It is mostly a how to for beginners book.

Any additional comments?

I appreciate what the author was trying to do but we are moving on to deeper horizons as a culture and we are seeing more closer relationships with quantum physics and the mind and how light and life are related. From my own experience, we discover who we are, not by embracing methods and tactics and how to strategies but by understanding who we are from the inside out. Most of the methodologies in this book material are about gaining access from the outside through some kind of tactic, whether it is dream work or meditations, working with crystals, etc. I think this kind of subject was already expanded upon in the 80's and 90's.

Generic voiceover is so draining!

Would you listen to The Lightworker's Source again? Why?

Yes, if there is somebody else doing it.

Would you ever listen to anything by Sahvanna Arienta again?

I think so, I couldn't get past the VO and absorb the information. I really, really tried.

How could the performance have been better?

Somebody who knows or cares about the subject matter instead of just following the standard voiceover instruction manual. I was so disappointed by this, as I was thrilled to have found this title on Audible. It sounds like she is just reading a cookbook, or instruction manual.

What did you learn from The Lightworker's Source that you would use in your daily life?

Nothing.

Illuminating

Would you consider the audio edition of The Lightworker's Source to be better than the print version?

No, I don't think one is better than the other. It really depends on your mood and the way you want to intake information. I am glad I had them both - it was very helpful to have both.

What other book might you compare The Lightworker's Source to and why?

This is the first book of this nature that I've read, but it will not be the last one.

Have you listened to any of Sheila Book’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, I'm was not familiar with Sheila Book before now.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It helped me demystify what being a light-worker is about and how to determine if you are a light-worker.

Any additional comments?

If anyone has any questions about being a light-worker, this book is great for that. I did find that she shared too many ways in which light-workers can enhance their abilities. In some instances it was too much information, but I guess it's good having that information availabile.

Very Imformative

A friend recommended this book to me a few months ago, and I'm glad she did. Very easy to follow along and has several exercises to practice on your own. Clarity is everything. I feel more informed about my journey and look forward to reading more from Sahvanna Arienta.
