Publisher's Summary
From the bestselling author of The Girl in the Corner comes the moving story of a man whose life is changed in an instant. How do you start again when you lose the only love you’ve ever known?
When Nick’s wife Kerry falls ill and dies, he realises for the first time how fragile his happiness has always been, and how much he’s been taking his good life and wonderful family for granted. Now, he suddenly finds himself navigating parenthood alone, unsure how to deal with his own grief, let alone that of his teenage son, Olly.
In the depths of his heartbreak, Nick must find a way to navigate life that pleases his son, his in-laws, his family and his friends - while honouring what Kerry meant to them all. But when it comes to his own emotions, Nick doesn’t know where to begin. Kerry was his childhood sweetheart - but was she really the only one who could ever make him happy?
And in the aftermath of tragedy, can Nick and his son find themselves again?

I cried.......I laughed!!
What a lovely story about life. If you've lost someone recently (or ever), you might have a hard time getting through the first chapter. I almost gave up, but I'm glad a came back to it and finished the whole book.
Nick and Eric are the best of friends, with all the feels of being 10 years old and then their mid-30s rollercoaster of life. Amanda Prowse is a marvelous writer, taking you along for the ride with ease. Having her reading for the audiobook is a bonus!! I will be looking at the rest of her books. Can't wait!

Amanda Prowse has a real talent for making you feel that you’re there in her stories and this one is a really easy listen. There are strands that weave together neatly towards the end of book but wish it had gone on for a lot longer.

Wonderful novel
Amanda Prowse has certainly done herself proud with this book !!! One of the best novels I have ever listened to . She’d obviously done a lot of research into grief and loss as this story almost mirrors a part of my own life . I love how Amanda reads her own novels she’s fabulous at character reading . I loved every line of this book. I actually cried and smiled in parts . Thankyou Amanda for your novel on grief and moving on
