The doorbell rings, just days after my beloved husband’s sudden death. I don’t recognise the woman on our doorstep, with her blonde highlights, a diamond bracelet identical to my own and a bouncing baby boy in her arms. Nicely woven tail from current and historical perspective. Enjoyed it very much. only wish the rest of the series have been recorded.

Easy listening and so-so story
Listened to this for a book club. Was looking forward to it because having visited Door County many times, I appreciate local authors writing about local places. The narrator was pleasant enough but her voice seemed a little too cheerful and upbeat for the story. She also mispronounced many words of ethnic origin (I noticed the Norwegian ones the most). All in all it was so-so but an enjoyable listen.
