Publisher's Summary

Rich boys don't fraternize with the help.
They don't care about the help.
They don't protect the help.

I should've remembered those lessons before I handed over my trust to four gorgeous, domineering boys.

But I didn't.

And now, I'm not the only one who's been hurt.

Someone out there is toying with me and my family, and I don't know who to turn to or who to trust.

I never wanted to play this game. But since the pieces are already on the board...

I'm sure as f--k gonna play to win.

Author's Note: The Lie is a reverse harem high school bully romance, the second book in the Kings of Linwood Academy trilogy. It contains cursing and sexual situations.

I want to to Swimming!

I didn't think book 2 could top book 1 but it went beyond expectations! Once again a major cliffhanger is left and my heart is broken and pounding all at once!

The narration was great! I like her boy voices. She doesn't force them to make it obvious. Very smooth

A bit long 🎧🎧AudiobookObsessionReviewer 🎧🎧

I still like the overall premise but think this book was unnecessary. The series should have been a duet IMO. There is still limited intimacy- a slow burn. But I enjoyed it and look forward to the next book. The continuation of the twist keeps the story alive - the romance is secondary.

Great Second Book!

This is the second book in the Kings of Linwood Academy a Reverse Harem High School Bully Romance. The story continues where the first book ended. In this book, we learn more about the characters. The bond between Harlow, Lincoln, River, Dax, and Chase is stronger, and they share a sizzling chemistry. The storyline is fast-paced, and filled with mystery and suspense. The story ends with another unpredictable cliffhanger. I can't wait to listen to the next and last book in the Series, The Risk. Amanda Stribling did a great job with the narration. #AudiobookObsession

Loved it

I just have to say what an ending 😳. It quite the cliffhanger and I’m so thrilled the final book in the trilogy is readily available! By the end of this book if your not hooked already you will be!! The narrator does an excellent job, and Callie outdid herself with this trilogy.

Amazing follow-up to The Help!

Phew, gonna need a cold shower after every time I listen to Callie's books! Book 2 in the Kings of Linwood Academy series definitely upped the ante in terms of heat 🔥🔥🔥.

I definitely fell in love with Lincoln and River in this one. I love how Lincoln is so possessive yet so sensitive and gentle, then gets all rough and domineering in the bedroom! He pretty much covers it all haha. He isn't the best with his emotions and expressing himself, but the other guys help out in that front. River is someone I want to cuddle forever and never let go. I love his story and relate (I am almost legally blind, so having that almost handicap makes it sometimes difficult in the real world). I love how Harlow is with him and how the group is getting more cohesive together. And daaaang that poker scene was amazing! There is a lot of action in this book (in terms of the plot, and yes with Harlow and primarily Lincoln hahaha). I kinda could guess the big reveal at the end, because the people they were focusing on was too easy. And holy moly, if you wanted to kill Savannah in book 1, just wait for book 2! She is an amazing villain and bully and I cannot wait for her to see her comeuppance. Hopefully she has as an amazing demise as the evil witch in Callie's other bully series hahaha.

For narration, again Amanda did a fabulous job. The whiny part when Harlow was super upset kinda got on my nerves even more in this one. I think Harlow normal and the rest of the characters was amazing, but instead of being upset, she just sounded like she was complaining/getting more high pitched where the tone was an odd frequency/noise level for me. Might just be personal preference, but again why I couldn't give her a 5 star (close 4.5 stars!).

If you loved book 1, book 2 is even better. I already started book 3 tonight and bet I will be finished before the end of the week because I will NEED to know what happens. Amazing job again Callie and Amanda. Highly recommend this series and especially the audiobooks ❤️❤️❤️

Less angst, more confidence needed

Harlow and her mom's lives have been turned upside-down. This was supposed to be a great opportunity, their new life. Instead it's turned into a nightmare. Someone is playing puppet master and is playing with their lives. Harlow isn't going to allow them to destroy the person she loves most in this world, her mom. Her mom has always been there for her. Now it's time to return the favor with a little help from the four kings.

I felt like we almost took a step backward in this book. Yes, there were a couple really steamy scenes but I didn't feel the emotional connection grow. I think the murder charges are close to ridiculous. It just seems such a stretch to pin the murder on Harlow's mom. I felt like we were in a holding pattern with Harlow visiting her mom (couldn't they be in a visitation room?) and Harlow jumping from house to house. I also feel like Savannah is an underutilized character. Why does she hate Harlow so much? Where is the backstory? She doesn't seem to want any of the guys, Harlow isn't after her cheerleading position or wanting to replace her as queen of the school, so why target her? I did like the misdirection and have I mentioned that I love River? I am invested now. I need to see how this is all going to play out, so I need the next book.

I feel like Amanda Stribling is not being used on this character like she should be. Harlow has 4 gorgeous men. She should be confident and sexy. Worried about her mom. Too much she comes across as angsty and whiny. There are moments of annoyance that shouldn't happen. #AudiobookObsessionReviewer

Love this book!

Callie Rose is my new absolute favorite Author. I am not totally sure how she comes up with the storylines of these books, but they are absolutely amazing. All 3 books in 3 whole days. I listened every minute I was awake.

Book 2: Book one ended and I absolutely could not wait to start the next one. This book had me all kinds of emotional. Callie and her moms relationship is amazing and that whole situation is messed up. Seriously messed up my nerves it was so sad. There is literally so many things I want to say about this book but I don’t wanna give anything away. Just read them, read them all!

The Awesomeness Continues! Amazing Audible Listen🎧

I am loving this series! This second book picks up right where “The Help” leaves off, this book focuses on Harlow trying to find answers to exonerate her mother, who is a pawn and an innocent victim. Harlow felt betrayed by all four kings and she refuses to speak the any of them. Lincoln does not give up on trying to explain his reasons, he and the boys finally get their chance. Together they team up to get to the bottom of everything that goes on. Harlow continues to be bullied at school, with everything going on she falls behind and barely gets by. Time is ticking as they try to get answers, every clue brings on more questions and Callie Rose keeps you wondering and thinking what is going on and who is responsible. The book is well plotted, there is plenty of drama, angst, action, mystery, suspense, twists and turns and some hot RH style romance.

I listened to the Audible edition, Amanda Stribling its an terrific narrator and voice artist. She continues to bring these characters to life, giving each their own voice and personality. You could hear how much heart she puts into her performance, she captures the characters emotions and passion which she projects into her performance. Her portrayal of the characters is spot on, she does them justice. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to.

Wow!

It’s a very good thing that I have book 3 already in my library and ready to listen to!!!

What a ride this book is! The mystery of what is happening Harlots mother absorbs her and the Kings I’d Linwoods every waking moment!! They are sure they know who the real killer is and work to prove it.

Their relationship flourishes along the way. However... what the find and don’t find is what held my attention, and the end, again left my chin on my chest!!! Gotta go listen to book 3!!! Callie Rose is a genius!!

Amanda Stribling’s voice is perfect for these characters!!

The intensity heats up in The Lie

And I thought the Help was intense. Things really intensify in this sequel. Lies, angst, suspense and the mean girls are all at play. Harlow and the Kings become their own detectives to try to save Harlow's mom. But as they dig deeper, they uncover more and more lies. As they work together, the relationship of the 5 grow more intense. I loved everything about this book. If it were not for the occasion mention of classes and tests, I would have forgotten they were all in high school. The Kings and Harlow dealt with some major adult topics that had me hooked from the first book. I could not stop listening and had to immediately jump into book 3. This is one series that will grab you and not let you go.

Amanda Stirling once again brought this book to life. She kept all the characters consistent and easy to follow. Her inflictions brought the suspense to a whole new level. I was captured by Stirling's narration and felt as if I was running beside Harlow. Stirling enhanced the experience of this story.

Good Listen

Harlow is still determined to find the killer and does not care about risking her life. The boys are always there supporting her and wanting her. She explores more with them and discovers she has feelings for them all. Ready for the next one.

Harlow is trying to navigate through life, new relationships, a bully, and her mother’s imprisonment. Few answers, new questions, but a whole lot of what the heck, need a conclusion.
Amanda did a wonderful job narrating through all the characters in the second book in the King of Linwood series.

5 star listen

I love this series! What a book! The second book in the series is no different from the first, both had all my attention. I love how much is happening. It’s not just about the romance, that though was amazing and there was so much chemistry between the characters. I haven’t read an RH before and I didn’t think I was going to like it but this was off the charts good. There’s still secrets and mysteries to unfold that I can’t wait to read about in the next book. What a cliffhanger! The narration was wonderful! I loved listening to this audiobook.

A great book with one heck of an ending...

Callie Rose has done it to me again. She's written this epic story that I got completely lost in. She gave me characters to love and to hate along the way. She kept me guessing and wondering the whole time. And then she left me with one heck of a cliffhanger. There was so much to enjoy about this story and the whole series so far. The Kings of Linwood have become the kind of guys that I love in my RH stories. Harlow remained an easy to like and read leading lady. And it was all brought to life by the same awesome narrator as last time.

But I need book three. I need it now because I HAVE to know how this ends after that crazy reveal.

This book was enthralling and kept you guessing. I enjoy the fact that Harlow and River become closer in this story. The ending made you think, "What happened?" Callie Rose makes you wanting more with her cliffhangers at the end. Amazing!
