A twisty and utterly binge-worthy psychological thriller

The killer isn’t in the courtroom. He’s in your marriage.

I’m working the biggest case of my career. If I win, I’ll be the most successful lawyer in Michigan. If I lose, no woman is safe at home, least of all me...

Because, as our first and only witness gives her statement, my whole life begins to unravel.

Every detail she recalls about the killer we’re after is devastatingly familiar: his dark, unruly hair, his obsession with crisp shirts and sharp suits, even the restaurants he takes his victims to on dates. I shudder as she describes the red silk ribbon he asked her to wear as a symbol of her devotion.

We haven’t found the real killer. But I know exactly who he is.

The man who swore to cherish me until death do us part. Who tightly tied the crimson bow that I can now feel scratching at my wrist. My husband…

A must-hear psychological thriller that will make you stay up all night. Fans of Gone Girl, The Housemaid and The Girl on the Train will be gasping out loud as they hear the twists in this!

I didn’t want to believe that Lock could be so deceptive. There had to be someone else that could know so much about Lock’s life. It was so obvious that I missed it!

Can someone be so very deceptive?

I enjoy this author a lot. I think I have most of her books. Sometimes it felt like there were too many words and not enough going on in this book. Also, the prologue caused a problem for me, which doesn't usually happen. I almost wish it wasn't there because it made me just want to get to the end quicker, which made the slow parts feel slower! Not sure if that makes sense sense. Most of the way through I thought I would be returning this book, but it got better in the last third of it. I think at some point I will listen to it again now that I know what happens at the end. I usually never want to know the ending of a book before I read it, but there were some parts of this one where you kind of just want to slap the main character, a supposedly intelligent woman, for making very poor decisions...which makes it seem like the story can go in any crazy direction if she keeps it up!

regarding the narrator: she was fine, but some of the male voices did not fit tbe character at all. Oh well.

I wanted to like this book even more...

This book is somewhat different from what she usually writes. I had my suspects as the story weaved and was surprised at the turn of events conclusion. I’m hoping she writes a sequel because I’m hooked!

Love this!

Fun story, although somewhat convoluted and hard to follow, but made sense in end. Characters might be a little far fetched, but well developed

Good book

Jaw dropping, edge of my seat the whole time. This thriller delivers on all fronts.

Kept me guessing up to the very last minute.
