Hard to put down

Perfect balancing of everything a classic romance needs. One of my ansolute favorites for certain!

The story

I loved the story. It kept you on your toes. The narrator was great. It’s a good listen that you can submerge into.

What an amazing story!

How this already isn't made into a movie is beyond me. Extremely well written. The performance by the reader was outstanding. He really captured the unique voices (and accents) of each of the characters. I dreaded getting to the last chapter because I knew the story would end. Excellent!

Savior in Thieves Clothing

This is the second time I've listened to Cat Sebastian's The Lawrence Browne Affair, and I actually enjoyed it even more. Gary Furlong's narration was so velvety English accent perfection that the excellent story Sebastian wrote was truly elevated. The publisher's blurb will tell you the bare bones of the story of an earl living in Cornwall who was so terribly abused and damaged by his father and older brother that he believed himself to be doomed to madness. When a charlatan in hiding from angry London criminals arrives on his doorstep to be his secretary, the Earl of Radnor is completely overwhelmed. It's a delightful historical fiction and the romance is compelling, though not the whole story. Well written, thoroughly enjoyable, very much worth a credit and more than one listen.

Spectacular, Gary Furlong Was Perfect!

Spectacular!!!

This series is so well done! The first one was amazing, but I liked this one even more. The characters are so creative and interesting, and the story was unique and kept me guessing. Obviously the ending is a given, but how they get there? Wonderful.

Audio is a great way to enjoy Cat Sebastian. Gary Furlong was born to read these characters and delivers a flawless performance. His accents are beautifully varied and it's easy to distinguish between the different characters, I always enjoy listening to him.

Another Intriguing Listen

The story and narrator remain compelling and intriguing. I can't stop consuming this series, and only feel disappointment when the story comes to an end. Cat Sebastian manages to create characters and weave stories that keep me engaged, interested, and entertained.

Immersive writing style, well-developed characters, and full of heart. Made even better by an excellent narrator.

This might just be the audiobook that hurls me into a historical romance binge. Lawrence is a very interesting character to get to know, and I’m glad I stuck around to see how things turned out for him in the end. Georgie’s character is also pretty nuanced, but he’s surprisingly easy to love. They’re both easy to love and root for. The side characters are also fun to know about. In fact, it’s the characters that made me stay and not want to put the book down.

This is the second audiobook I’ve listened to that’s narrated by Gary Furlong. The first one made me look into more of his work. I like how distinctive his character voices are and how he injects the emotion needed in every dialogue.

The narration was perfect, the story was wonderfully written. Romantic, exciting and riveting worth listening to more than once.
