Great new character for Michael Connolly. Another action filled police drama with intricate twists and turns.
As a great fan of Detective Harry Bosch this was a good read .
Enjoyed the book but I must confess Harry is the best.

Worthy

This was a good distraction while crossing the US on a very full plane. Liked the story, liked the narrator. Give it a shot!

Horrible Narration

I could hardly finish this book because poor narration made it impossible to distinguish one character from another, which rendered the book boring. I'm surprised Michael Connelly didn't veto releasing this audio version.

Thriller

It was hard to stop listening. Took three days to knock it off. Well, structured and a cliffhanger to the end

Loved it.

Excellent reading. Well done. Good mystery. I enjoyed it a lot. I recommend it to all fans of the author.

Harry Bosch & Team are around

Because I read a little bit more action based books, spired novels, police dramas, espionage and the like this book started out a little slow for me.
Then my wife told me about the new TV series, Ballard and that Harry Bosch was part of it.
I really enjoyed the Bosch TV series. I read the first book and they watched all of the shows.
After 16 chapters of Boulevard, I was still struggling to enjoy it. The writing is obviously excellent. The reading is excellent, but the storyline moved a little slow I thought.
After watching baggy Q Maggie Q play the role of Ballard on the new series and seeing Bosch, I decided to start the book over.
Having seen the first two episodes of the Ballard series I better understood what I was reading.
From that point on, it became much more interesting.
Though I’d say it’s probably gonna be an excellent series. I plan on reading it all. Michael Connelly is a winner.

Just not as good as a "Bosch" book

It wasn't terrible, but also definitely not up to the standard of his earlier writing.

Looking forward to many more. Complex, believable and gripping. All character development really well done.

Great new character and Connelly at his time tested best

Renee Ballard is tough as nails and as vulnerable but impregnable as Harry Bosch. A welcome new opening for Connelly fans. Narrator is also great and gets far too little exposure on Ray Donovan.

Great story.

Good character development, loved all the details. Story somewhat predictable. Bad language plus taking the Lord’s name in vain. Sort of detracted from the flow and story.
