Publisher's summary

Madame Sabine de Roussard has become one of the most fashionable modistes in London, but she’s hiding a terrible secret. Or several. First, she isn’t really French. Second, her name isn’t actually Sabine de Roussard. Third, she fled her home in Yorkshire to vanish in the cosmopolitan city of London because she had, albeit inadvertently, killed her abusive husband, Lawrence Russell…except now she isn’t so sure he’s dead because she might have seen him in Hyde Park. And now she’s in love with an earl who wants her to be more than his mistress.

Lord Edmund Grayson, Earl of Winburn, has fallen madly in love with his dressmaker mistress. He’s so in love with her, he doesn’t even mind her atrociously fake French accent. What he does mind is that she suddenly appears to be keeping more secrets from him about her present than her past. When she begins to sneak off, to lie about where she’s going and who she is with, he begins to wonder if perhaps the bloom is off the rose and she’s grown tired of him. That is until a brute of a man claiming to be her husband comes knocking at his door. But he doesn’t want to reconcile with his wife. He wants to see her hang.

Can Gray manage to win Sabine’s freedom and her heart? Or will he lose her to a man who never deserved her just because the law says it’s his right?

Perfectly perfect!

Sabine de Roussard, beautiful, smart, dressmaker to the elite, and a fraud. Lord Edmund Grayson, so smitten with Sabine that he really doesn’t care that she isn’t who she says, or what she might be hiding. That is until someone from Sabines past turns up with nefarious designs that put her life in jeopardy! “The Late Husband” is PERFECTION! Beautifully written, featuring brilliantly defined and developed characters, delightfully smart dialogue, and a fantastic, smooth flowing, easy to follow, engrossing, tension filled plot! No spoilers! I don’t want to ruin any surprises, but I will say that I loved how everything resolved! It all made sense, and I was left entertained with no unanswered questions. The narration breathing life into these characters, this delightful story is amazing! The nuances and inflections of the narrator’s vocal intonations gives ALL the clues you’ll need to know exactly what each character is thinking and feeling as the dialogue is spoken and the scene is set! Both narrators are perfection and work seamlessly to bring the author’s beautiful vision to sparkling life! I throughly enjoyed The Late Husband and I can’t wait for more! Five fantastic stars!

Just Wonderful!

Madame Sabine/Sally has not had an easy life and so she makes a new one for herself as a ‘French’ Seamstress and she also takes a lover, Lord Edmund Grayson. These two are besotted with each other and of course someone plots to split them up.
This was a beautiful love story, one that warms the heart.
I have just finished listening to the audiobook version narrated by Lillian Yves and Vincent Lee Grayson. These three very talented artists make story telling the best thing to read and to listen too – any time!

Just love Chasity’s Books

I absolutely love these sweet little stories. They still have twists and turns but are short and to the point. This series has been delightful to listen too, and I so love these narrators. They are my favorite!
