Good Read

Nora Roberts is always a good read, and The Last Honest Woman doesn't disappoint. However, I did come away feeling that the ending was a bit rushed.

Oh, please!

I'm sorry. There are many, many Nora Roberts books that I think are great, but these four were so HOKEY! Does anyone else think that the same author who wrote Montana Sky, or The Villa (just to name two) could have also written these? Hard to believe!

Great family Dynamics

What I enjoy most about these books is that it is a series and each one of the stories lets you know more about the family. The O'Hurleys are a strong family with the normal problems of getting along and living up to expectations. I especially enjoy the Irish dialect of the narrator. The women in this series are all strong , moral and proud. Great read

Good Light Reading or Listening

Your basic book club style romance but very enjoyable. Good performance by narrator. Good Irish accents. Good first book in the four part series--I always like series.

I love this series, but

I actually bought this as soon as it became available, because I love most things Nora Roberts. This recent trend of publishing the books that she wrote while she was writing formula romance, which requires that writers follow fairly strict guidelines and learning her craft. I love several of the books that she wrote during her Sillouette years and I have re-read the books in this series three or four times. And I ended up buying each of the books in the series as it became available even though I thought that the narration was terrible.

Marie Caliendo has a sweet little girl voice, and the only characther it does justice to is a southern belle type in The Last Honest Woman. The characters in these books are survivors, but they end up sounding like ten-year-olds. That goes for male and female, young and old. I can't say don't buy this, the story is worth hearing. I just don't know how I would have felt if this were my introduction to the stories instead of a review.

Refreshing love story

This was a very pleasant book in which to listen. It took me back to the simple love stories that would entertained a Saturday afternoon. I could relate to the main character. She was a real woman! Not a storybook character that is too perfect. I would listen to it again.
