Bone chilling…

This story follows Rayna Harmon, a freelance writer struggling to make ends meet. Suddenly she finds herself with two houses and the possibility to pay her debts. This woman is tired, sad and has faced irreparable loss. When she gets to one of the properties she inherited, she feels unsettled. Eerie things start to happen that make her question her sanity. Until she unearths bone chilling secrets. Will she get rid of this inheritance? Run away?

This book kept my attention. Made me sit on the edge of my chair. I never would have guessed all the twists and turns this one takes. It’s not my usual genre and I have to say it’s an excellent read. The author has an incredible ability to build up the tension!!!

The narrator did a fantastic job. I got scared. I sweated. I felt Rayna’s fear and despair.

If you love horror and mystery, this story is definitely a must add to your TBR or TBL.

Great Story and Narrator

The Narrator did such a good job immersing me into this story (that I wrote!) I felt a lot of emotions listening to this story being narrated and she delivered such a good performance enabling the listener to experience every emotion along with the protagonist.

Creepy Storyline

The story hooked me pretty quickly, but what I liked most was how it didn’t rush anything. It builds tension in a really natural way, and there’s this constant feeling that something isn’t right even in the quieter moments. I found myself wanting to keep listening “just a little longer” way more times than I’d like to admit. It feels grounded and believable, which made the creepier parts land even harder.

The narration honestly made a huge difference too. The narrator sounds very natural, like you’re actually listening to a real person telling you what’s happening rather than someone performing it. The emotional moments hit, but it never feels overdone or dramatic in a bad way. It just fits the tone of the story really well.

Overall, this was a really solid audiobook. Definitely one of those where the combination of a good story and the right narrator makes it way more immersive than just reading it on the page. I’ll be thinking about this one for a while.

Thriller keeps you guessing

This was one of those books that pulls you in quickly and keeps you thinking long after it’s over. The narrator brought the characters to life in a way that made the story even more immersive and engaging. Tone, pacing, and delivery were all spot on.

Overall, a powerful listen that’s definitely worth your time, especially in audio format.

I nearly crashed my car

I was listening to this while driving at night while it was raining. There's a particular part in the book that is extremely suspenseful the first time you hear it, and I was on the edge of my seat. Well the narrator, Bree Allison, got me pretty good with an unexpected jump scare, and its a good thing I have steady hands at the wheel!

The whole book was satisfying from start to finish. Lots of great atmosphere. Bree's narration pulled me in from the very start to the very end. Her performance made me feel like I was there, and her emotive storytelling was so well done.

I highly recommend this book, and hopefully Matt and Bree will collaborate on many more.
