Acerca de esta escucha

Post-apocalyptic chaos. The first clone pregnancy. The secret to survival.

In the aftermath of a global pandemic, Dr. Avit Arceneaux and Sister Lazare, genetically altered clones, escape to Scorpion Hollow, a remote town nestled in the hills of North Georgia. They have nowhere else to go, and Lazare is expecting their first child.

The newlyweds live their dream in the midst of a nightmare…for a while. Their hard-won peace shatters when Lazare is found unconscious on the same night a clone bearing the face of Avit’s greatest enemy arrives with chilling news. Repurposed stasis clones across Atlanta are dying- suddenly, inexplicably, and the deaths may be linked to the rogue experiment that transformed Avit and Lazare’s DNA.

On biological countdown, Avit must unravel the twisted connection to save his wife, their unborn child, and what remains of the population.

In a world ravaged by science without ethics, survival depends on the evolution of humanity. The Last Clone is a post-apocalyptic medical thriller set in a future where stasis clones, once harvested for organ transplant, now walk among the living. As Avit and Lazare navigate the first clone pregnancy and the unknown, often erratic, consequences of bioengineering, society is forced to question what it truly means to be human.

This audiobook mixes science, emotions and a lot of suspense. Everything happens after a pandemic, with clones, weird experiments and a pregnancy that changes everything. The story has some very tense moments, but it also talks about love, the fear of losing and how far science can go if you lose control. It's an easy listen, and the voice narrating it manages to keep you hooked, with just the right tone in each scene.

I confess that I loved this audiobook more for its human dilemmas than for the action. The Last Clone mixes science and emotions in a way I didn't expect. I enjoyed seeing how, in the midst of so much chaos, the important thing is still to protect the ones you love.

The narrator, Daena Schweiger, has a clear and serene voice that brings to life a story that is intense, but also intimate. Ideal if you are looking for something that entertains, but also makes you think.

A story that left me thinking.

From the beginning, The Last Clone struck me as a different story. There's science, yes, but also a lot of heart. Watching Avit and Lazare try to live peacefully in the midst of a broken world moved me. Everything gets complicated fast and I didn't know at what point the worst could happen.

The narration was clear, natural, without exaggeration. She made me feel inside the story. It's an audiobook that grabs you and leaves you thinking about the future and what it really means to be human.

An intense story that is not easily forgotten.

What struck me most about The Last Clone was how it blends science, love and despair without losing its direction. It's not just a futuristic story, it's a fight for the basics: protecting one's family.

Daena Schweiger's voice has just the right pace, smooth when it should, firm when the moment demands it. It left me with the feeling of having listened to something bigger than a thriller: a warning about what we could become.

A disturbing future, told with emotion.

I don't usually get so hooked on futuristic stories, but this one surprised me. It has science out of control, clones, danger, and at the same time, a couple trying to protect the only thing they have left. I liked how it builds up the tension without leaving out the human. I thought the narration was excellent: clear, well acted and with a pace that never gets boring.

A story that grabs you immediately.

The Last Clone: The Genethic Legacy, Book 2 by Dawn C. Crouch is a masterful blend of science fiction, suspense, and deep human emotion. I was absolutely captivated from the first chapter and found myself fully immersed in this post-apocalyptic world where science has not only pushed boundaries but deeply complicated what it means to be human.

What makes this story so compelling isn’t just its unique setting or high-stakes plot—though both are richly developed—but its emotional core. Avit and Lazare are characters you grow to care about deeply. Their struggle is not just for survival, but for love, family, and identity in a fractured world. The ethical questions posed throughout the story linger long after the final chapter.

The narration by Daena Schweiger is outstanding. Her performance is clear, controlled, and emotionally resonant. She manages to differentiate characters with subtle vocal shifts while never overacting—something I greatly appreciated. Her delivery perfectly matched the tone of the story: haunting, hopeful, and tense in all the right places.

I highly recommend this audiobook and without hesitation. If you enjoy thoughtful, character-driven science fiction with strong emotional impact and stellar narration, this one is a must-listen. I can’t wait for the next instalment in the series.
