Decent story. Too long and drawn out and no real substance. It kept my attention but I would not recommend this book

My go to book
this was my first George Weir book but I got hooked. I can't day enough good about this book. Bill Travis is a great character and the book is a fantastic journey to begin this series. It is captivating and makes you come right in to each scene. Amazon this should be number one.

Great Story
Great story, but the narration needed a female voice. Bad attempt at southern accent and it really failed when trying to put the feminity into it. There is a place in the narration where volume level gets lower but then gets louder in next chapter. Seems the volume leveler was off or the sound mixer took the day off.

Couldn’t even make it 1/3 way through
Simplistic and juvenile. Dialog a first grader could write with juvenile adult situations. A waste of time. I hate to ding the performer as he had nothing to work with but did little to improve it.

A slow moving story that never gets started
What would have made The Last Call better?
The story starts out slow and continues to never get off the ground. The entire length is shown as being only 5 hours. After listening for over an hour the storyline hadn't begun to catch my interest.
Has The Last Call turned you off from other books in this genre?
Probably not. This genre is something that I usually enjoy
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Frank Clem?
The narrator did a good job considering the material he had to work with.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Last Call?
I don't consider this book salvageable even with editing
