Publisher's summary

The Witcher returns in this action-packed sequel to The Tower of Swallows, in the New York Times best-selling series that inspired The Witcher video games.

After walking through the portal in the Tower of Swallows while narrowly escaping death, Ciri finds herself in a completely different world...an Elven world. She is trapped, with no way out. Time does not seem to exist, and there are no obvious borders or portals to cross back into her home world.

But this is Ciri, the child of prophecy, and she will not be defeated. She knows she must escape to finally rejoin the Witcher, Geralt, and his companions - and also to try to conquer her worst nightmare. Leo Bonhart, the man who chased, wounded, and tortured Ciri, is still on her trail. And the world is still at war.

Translated from the original Polish by David French.

This one kind of went off the rails

The story overall is fine I guess but it felt like the author kind of over reached himself with this one. The whole telling of the story from the perspective of someone affected by Ciri in the future just didn’t do it for me and felt very very confusing and didn’t pay out. Wish he would’ve stuck to his same ol format and done with that aspect. Felt cheap and wasn’t necessary

Geralt and Ciri's story is full of twist and turns and nothing but heartbreak. sapkowski really keeps you locked in with a writing style new and interesting

Excellent book tricky to follow narrative tho

The writing is very good it's just that the narrative is sometimes very hard to follow although given the subject matter of the book it's justified in most places however like in his other books the author has a hard time sticking with the single narrative for an extended period of time and it jumps around very much like a pulp fiction movie… Again in this particular book it's a bit justified but in previous books not so much… I suspect that the author has a hard time sticking with A single narrative... all of the books in the series are essentially a collection of short stories from different peoples perspectives collected together to form a disjointed epic series. It's still quite good but sometimes can be frustrating until the puzzle pieces fit together… Which they don't always do

It got repetitive

Though I really enjoyed the characters & narrator the story started to recycle itself. The girl leaves & she is found. Old friends reunite through a bad turn of luck. Girl leaves & the Witcher finds her. Now the Witcher leaves & I assume the girl will find him.

incredible

Firstly Peter Kenney again does an amazing job on these books. The incredible writing style used to peak the intensity of suspense is amazing to me. My only negitive comment is that I'm astounded that audible has not released an American audio book of Season of Storms the last Book in the series. Listening to one of my favorite video game series origins and back stories is beyond interesting. I'm astounded after the failed TV series that this series hasn't been memorialized on the big screen yet. More people should know about this series.

wow, all over the place.

Still a good book but it is all over the place and time and world's. Some how even king Arthur shows up and other parts of the book seem to take place in a history lesson in a class.
