But something about the Virgin troubles him, and Hermes calls on an old friend to confirm his suspicions that the icon is a fake. Ready to hand the matter over to the authorities, Hermes intends to leave - until the island's icon painter is found dead at sea. Did he die of natural causes or by a wrathful hand? Critic Reviews

“Anne Zouroudi writes beautifully - her books have all the sparkle and light of the island landscapes in which she sets them. The Lady of Sorrows, her latest, is a gorgeous treat.” (Alexander McCall Smith)

Intelligent and Interesting Mystery!

Hermes, aka “the fat man,” is an intelligent and very intuitive character. The author really brings him to life in these mysteries, along with all the fabulously authentic Greek villagers she portrays. Very well done. I plan to read all the mysteries in this series. It’s a winner!
