One pair of sexy underwear guaranteed to make a man...ha...happy.

One awesome seduction plan to make hunky cop beg me to be his (all night long).
Everything going wrong because why wouldn’t it?

Jefferson Evian has been my brother’s best friend since I’ve been a little kid. We’ve flirted on and off throughout the years, but he’s always been out of my reach because of my bossy overprotective brother, Nolan. Jefferson has just been nominated to represent the local police station at the Canyon Beach Annual Kissing Auction and I’m not happy that half the women in town want to bid on him. Not happy at all. So I’ve come up with an idea, helped slightly by my best friend, Jules and her wacky cousin Stella. And I’m hoping that our plan will help me win Jeff’s heart once and for all. I hadn’t counted on the fact that Jeff had a plan of his own that was going to turn all my plans upside down.

Officer Jeff & Betsy’s Light & Playful Story!

Officer Jefferson & Betsy’s Story Is A Playful and Light-Hearted Quick Read With Humor And Great Chemistry!

This is book two of the the Dating Plan series, retitled The Hookup Plan and previously released as Canyon Beach Romances by Jaime Case, a series of light-hearted and playful stand-alones. The series is set in Canyon Beach, a small beach town in which everyone knows one another and gossip travels fast. For the last two years, though, newcomers have been moving into the area, attracted by the beach. Book one is Nolan and Julia’s story. This is Jeff and Betsy’s story. Betsy and Julia are best friends, as are Nolan and Jeff. Nolan is Betsy’s older brother. Their stories are thus closely linked.

From book one:

Julia Garwood, twenty-six, is focused on her career in journalism. She has worked at the Canyon Beach Chronicle since college. Dissatisfied, she asks her editor, Malcolm, to be assigned a serious story, but soon comes to regret it. Thirty dates in thirty days. She is to write about her online dating experience and gin up online clicks for the Chronicle, which is struggling in a changing industry. Moreover, her best friend’s brother will be the photographer on the assignment. He will accompany her on all her dates, filming and taking pictures to accompany the article online.

Jules and Betsy have been best friends since childhood, and she has consequently spent a great deal of time around Betsy’s older brother, Nolan. Nolan brings out the worst in Jules. They argue like siblings, and he criticizes her incessantly. He was her first kiss ten years ago. But she was three years younger than him and he was graduating.

Nolan Montgomery, twenty-nine, is a photographer with a budding career as a filmmaker, too. He could move to Hollywood, but chooses to stay in Canyon Beach, his small hometown. He declared he wouldn’t marry when he was young, and today his relationships never last more than a month or two. But he enjoys hanging out his with his best friend, Officer Jefferson Evian, and occasional meals with his family. He often sees his sister and her best friend at those meals. He can’t help himself when he gets near Jules. She complains he is mean, but she is so immature that she is asking to be put in her place.

In book two:

Betsy-Lou Montgomery, twenty-six, has always had a crush on her brother’s best friend. Officer Jefferson Evian has been visiting her daily at Betsy & Elsie’s Yummy Cupcake Store, the bakery she co-owns along with her grandma Elsie. Betsy and Jeff have even been flirting a little lately, and Betsy suspects that he might finally be into her. But when she hears that he will be representing the police department at the kissing booth as part of the town’s charity bachelor auction, she becomes green with envy at the thought of all the women he will be kissing. In need of a plan, she gathers the girls together to ask for advice. Her best friend Julia, Julia’s cousin Stella, and Stella’s best friend Abby gather and suggest that the women should have their own kissing booth – which might just spark a little jealousy in Jeff.

Jefferson Evian, about twenty-nine, isn’t capable of marriage. He grew up watching his own parents argue and struggle, and he knows he isn’t cut out for it. He has only ever had casual relationships, which has suited him fine. His only regret is Betsy, his best friend’s little sister. Nolan had warned him off both Betsy and her best friend Julia back when they were teens, so hooking up with her was always out of the question. Besides, he isn’t good for Betsy. But when he hears that she will be working a kissing booth, his self-control goes out the door.

Jeff is in denial of the depth of his feelings for Betsy as they begin a relationship of sorts in a roundabout way. They have fantastic chemistry together and great banter. Their story is light, playful, and sweet. Jeff is a little slow to come around, but with the aid of several matchmakers he finally takes the initiative with Betsy. They earn a happy for now ending.

Jeff and Betsy’s story is a feel-good quick read with several laughs and steamy chemistry. The story is well-written. The plot is fairly simple. The characters are nicely developed. The story is written in first person. The POV alternates between Jeff and Betsy. I rate this book 4.5 stars.
