Publisher's summary

Sali Terri and George Shooters - two rookie officers from the Galactic Guild - find themselves in way over their heads with political intrigue, working to ratify a treaty with the cantankerous locals of a small planet called Kili Wanna. Every time an agreement is about to be reached with the current emperor, someone kills him off, nullifying the planet's induction into the Galactic Guild. The madness ramps up when outside influences take the matter into their own hands and flood the podunk planet with junk food in an attempt to corrupt their simple lifestyle and force them into an alliance.

Humor flows from every minute of this satirical tale. The Kili Wanna Affair delivers on laughs and adventure that defies its genre.

Excellent Space Opera

Finished in one day. Loved it. This series(?) has everything! Alien romance is just the beginning! So well done at all levels with high re-readability. I can't wait for more. This is the author's best so far.

LaughRightOutLoud Comedic Space Opera FuntaSci-fi

Would you listen to The Kili Wanna Affair: A Galactic Guild Comedy again? Why?

I enjoyed the story and narrator and look forward to more Sali & George!
I've never listened to Tom Conry before. He brought such levity to this book. I sincerely hope he continues to narrate the series going forward. Truly. Can I bribe him?

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Kili Wanna Affair: A Galactic Guild Comedy?

Snookums' stunt double! I REALLY didn't see that one coming!

Which scene was your favorite?

There were too many. Among the best were when Sali covered the camera and realized he was still on surveillance.
Snookums getting blown up was unexpected. The following events at the vet.
George wanting to be alpha male.
So many! This was a delightful adult space opera.
I especially liked the clicking sounds for cursing.

Any additional comments?

I rarely indulge in space opera. Too many are juvenile or ill-written. Sali and George are Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum who haphazardly accomplish a mission without snarky-ism, waking up with memories in tact, and have families. I'm soo sick of orphans who are prophesied to save the world!
A light and fun listen/read. I'm tickled to have found it on Audible, as I've been struggling to find time to complete the book!
***please please hurry and get the second book on Audible!

Great fun!

This book is just a hoot! The names and places are maniacal, the verbal humor is insane, and you can't help laughing and chortling throughout the whole thing. There is a plot, and the publisher's blurb gives hints on that, but the characters are really the thing. Be ready to have a good time with this one!
I have the audio and think that Tom Conry is the absolute best!

4.5/5 A study in ridiculousness

Summary: A semi-competent ensign gets assigned as the liaison to Kili Wanna with the job of getting them to sign a treaty with the Galactic Guild. What follows is a series of predictable yet amusing events.

Additional Comments:
- Don’t take the book too seriously. If you’re looking for serious, you are definitely in the wrong place.
- At times, the book was kind of annoying, but I broke it up with a family drama/romance book so it’s all good. In the end, it leaves one with a mildly amused feeling, which is a great note to end on.
- The narrator did a lovely job with all the voices. Definitely worth getting the audiobook. Grab the free kindle version and you usually get a discount on the audio.
- Content warnings: brief mention of nudity, a few sophomoric references to George’s breasts, and a few curses. Most of the curses were confined to tick-tick-pops.
- Sali Terri’s a dude, so of course George Shooters is a lady.
- I love Bethel. She’s hilarious, and she does everything.
- You can get a feel for the tone of the book by some of the names. i.e. Snookums, royal cat like thing. I won’t attempt to spell that because I heard the audible version.
- The characters are more like caricatures, but that’s definitely done on purpose. Sali’s a (lovable) bumbling idiot who happens to get everything right. George is a top-of-the-class, straight-laced sort who ends up being the assistant for the bumbling idiot.
- The style’s like A Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy without quite so much dry humor. (It’s more in-your-face stupid humor like Flex being an Arnoldian and always wanting to break things or maim people.)

Conclusion: Amusing opening to what’s sure to be a series of galactic misadventures.

Sali and George Deliver a Treat(y)

Dali Terri and his aide, George Shooters have the unenviable assignment of negotiating a treaty between the Galactic Guild and the Kili Wanna emperor. Mysteriously, the emperors are assassinated before they can sign the treaty or the GG representative becomes Kili Wannan barbecue. To add to the problem, pirates are flooding the planet with fast food. The story has a good number of comic episodes that made me groan, giggle, or laugh. This is a must listen to remedy a dismal day or two. Tom Conry's rendition of the story is well done, but his delivery may be a bit rapid for some. In all, a nice comic story suitable for all.

Note: I received a copy of this audiobook free from author.

Should be a children's story

This was really for 9 year olds. A tale about a planet being brought down by fast food. Cautionary tale to the eat the right foods or you'll get fat and sick. Kitty cats and elephants? REALLY? Children's book. Don't use your credits
