Publisher's Summary

A missing prince who's a hemp farmer. An orc full of cliches. A wizard apprentice starting his first Fate Quest.

Gungren is tired of waiting to become a full-fledged wizard. Unfortunately for him, Whizzfiddle isn’t one who takes well to his apprentices pushing him around. But when the Fates decide to give one of their infamous quests to Gungren, it leaves Whizzfiddle with little choice but to lend his support. Unbeknownst to Whizzfiddle, though, the quest is only part one of three.

They must travel to the Underworld in order to find and save the prince. But getting there isn't easy, especially since they have to bring along Princess Jill Henroot, who is the fiancée of the missing prince, and who happens to be quite a pain in the rump. Worse, the Fates have decided to film the entire adventure, making for one problem after another.

It also seems there was something more to the original spell that had transformed Gungren from a dumb giant into the smart, squat, wizard wanna-be, and this set of quests may be the only thing to save him from reverting to what he once was.

Lighthearted laughs and lots of fun

I received a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review. Another fun Ononokin adventure from Logsdon and Young! This series is so much fun. Gungren is such a lovable character and his dialogue alone made this a funny and easy listen. Jus Sargeant's narration really brings the cast to life like few others can. The humor is not over-the-top raunchy or offensive. It is extremely tame if you compare it to Logsdon and Young's Platoon F series, which is definitely geared towards a more politically incorrect adult audience and is absolutely hilarious. The Ononokin series is fine for just about any age that is not a single digit. Well worth the time.

Another fun entry in the Ononokin universe

I've been enjoying the Ononokin series, they are a light, fun listen. I would recommend listening/reading them in order, characters from earlier books pop up here and there. I received a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Fantastic fairy tale for adults!

The land of Ononkin is full of fun characters of many races and the adventures are always full of humor, sometimes tongue in cheek and sometimes slapstick comedy. In this tale, we get to see some favorite characters from previous stories as well as meet new ones. A bit of a turn for this story, the prince needs saving and the princess is the hero. Will definitely read/listen to the next books. Narration is absolutely one of my favorites. I do have to include that the author had free codes up for grab & asked for an honest review.

Another Great Addition to Ononokin

To summarize: I do not want to wait for the next two books! This first Fate Quest was fun, and seeing a young apprentice wizard earn his stripes only proves to be perfect fodder for more fun!

Royal Hilarity

Its another chuckle a minute story as Gungren goes on his own fate quest with unusual requirements so starts this cracking story. Jus does these stories so well its hard to find such a match anywhere else and i hope he does lots more stories.

I got into this as a segway but damn is it funny

Writer & narrator merge and kick ass here. Best series for fun and laughs since Platoon F. I absolutely loved this style of writing. Funny is not infantile.
