Publisher's summary
When Marshal Flint Maddox stumbles upon the gruesome sight of his best friend murdered in a cornfield, it triggers the K5 PROTOCOL, a dangerous and long dormant neural implant. He comes face-to-face with the brutal past he left years ago and the memory of monsters who tried to kill him. Unable to catch the aliens before they leave the planet with his friend’s daughter, he deputizes a posse of four androids and steals a ship.
Maddox and his unlikely crew embark on a desperate galactic hunt filled with treacherous wormholes, feminine betrayal, and aliens who consider humans an expendable race. Driven to find the girl, Maddox extracts a dying alien’s confession that reveals an underlying plot of horrific proportions—that if the details become known—will rock the galaxy.
From a once great Earth to the utopian world of Anterra to the ice planet of Deggres 9 to the strange Outer Rim Territories, you will ride along with Galactic Marshal Maddox and his crew. But buckle up—because you’re in for a thrilling, heart-pounding, nail-biting, but well worth waiting for Ending!

Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Story
Five years after physicist Mark Holder discovered the Slipstream Drive in 2058, humanity reached for the stars and began to colonize the galaxy. For centuries, humans continued to populate system after system without encountering intelligent alien life. Some 1,200 years later, after many generations of relative peace, in the year 3278, human space is invaded by a powerful and mysterious enemy. To these invaders, the very concept of free will is heresy. Their crusade—to eradicate humanity. The war begins, and the fight for the survival of the human race is on.

The war between different alien groups lasted for over 2,300 years. But Keith Robinson didn't know anything about that. He assumed that the job he had applied for was to work on an Arctic research ship. He thought that he would be assembling parts for upgraded sonar buoys. He thought wrong. The AI on the derelict spaceship was open to lying if that could finally get the ship repaired. Hiring a repair technician from the primitive planet Earth was a crazy plan. And even crazier, it worked. After salvaging an alien ship, Keith now finds himself the ship's owner. But something is deadly wrong ...

Good world building
I really enjoyed this book. Good plot. Good world building. Good character development, even of the one who got on my nerves sometimes. Ha! A nice immersion with good detail and without dropping a data dump.

Great Sci-fi
Thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book. I could easily see this as a series.

A classic sci fi action hero
Former special agent and current Marshall Flint growls and snarls his way across the galaxy as he hunts down kidnappers and slavers. If you read classic science fiction from the 40s and 50s, you'll recognize him because his DNA is in those classic stories.

Humor
I actually don't read this genre normally. But I am so glad that I did get this one. It is awesome. Flint is a roughneck as we use to say but the play between him and the androids was comical at times. I really enjoyed this book, despite it being part of a genre that I typically stay away from... so AAA++ everyone!
