Publisher's Summary

Gay Hendricks broke new ground earlier this century with his best-selling classic, The Big Leap, which has become an essential resource for coaches, entrepreneurs, executives, and health practitioners around the world. Now, Dr. Hendricks brings you his new work, the next step beyond The Big Leap. The new book shows how to solve two major problems creative people face: how to end negative thinking and how to liberate authentic creativity. The Joy of Genius also shows you how use the Genius Move, a new navigational tool for reaching the highest level of your potential. If you are committed to bringing forth your innate genius and making your largest possible creative contribution, The Joy of Genius, will become a trusted companion for the journey.

powerful and simple

I love the simplicity of this book. I feel like it gets to the heart of Gay's teachings and provids practical tools that resonate with me such that I'm still using them months later. He always has insightful messages, but his Genius Move in this book is a powerful practice that immediately shifts me into creating what I really want. I highly recommend this book!

Loved everything!

Loved it! Listened to white at the job. I'm going to listen again so I can actually do the practical steps. I can see the value of making the mind body connection through doing the exercises . Great follow up to the Big Leap!

Love! Next step after The Big Leap.

I got bored with the intro of The Big Leap so I stopped reading it. But I was in an online book challenge so I decided to give it another chance. So happy I did! Really gives you the tools to end negative thinking (for me, better than anything else I have found). Ended up loving it. The Joy of Genius takes it to the next level. I find as I build my muscle to end negative thinking, it frees up all this powerful energy that can be used to create anything desired. Creativity flows. It puts me into flow state more often, which can be harnessed for creative problem-solving, better focus and the ability to complete tasks and goals easier - and just living life lighter. Still reading The Joy of Genius and I grabbed the new book Conscious Luck that just came out because that looks amazing too. I think of it as the next step on the journey.

A book about creativity

I'm glad I picked this up, as the title feels so wrong for this book! It's not a book about child geniuses, but rather a book about finding your own inner genius and creative soul. It's about finding that inner creative spark, which can bring us so much joy. If you're an artist, or wannabe artist, then I recommend this book.

Just okay

It has a good message, but it could probably be conveyed in 30 minutes. I wasn't thrilled, its really about just asking questions rather than going with the flow. that's the entire premise.

Wonderful and wise

The author has shared his wisdom about the genius move- don’t worry about what you can’t control. My dad gave me the same idea so it resonated even more. Thanks sir!

Good follow up to The Big Leap

Good follow up the author’s previous book around the same topic. Similar content but with more application. If you were to only purchase/listen to one, I preferred The Big Leap for the theory. The value in this book I think is to actually do the exercises suggested.
