Publisher's summary

The theme of this four-day retreat: "It's Always Now"

The Now is inseparable from who you are at the deepest level. It is the prerequisite of Being. As you listen to the words on this tape, you participate in the retreat. To "retreat" means to step back - not only from the outer world, but also from the world in your head, the thinking mind. Allow the sound of the words to take you beyond words and beyond sound to the stillness within. Allow the Now to be as it is and so realize the formless essence of the Now as consciousness itself.

Suggested practice: use the lesson throughout the day.

  • Lesson 1: What is your relationship with the present moment?
  • Lesson 2: Get into your body! Practices for inner body awareness.
  • Lesson 3: Using sound as a portal into stillness.
  • Lesson 4: A day spent in silence.
  • Lesson 5: Questions & answers. Being present, amidst the world.
  • Lesson 6: Questions & answers. The power of detachment and surrender.

Blessings on your Journey into your Self.

    Awesome

Eckhart Tolle shares this ancient knowledge in an extraordinarily accessible way - for a western mind. I found the laughter a delightful expression of the waves of joy that come with a taste of consciousness becoming aware of itself.

    Awesome

Hearing Tolle talk is a meditation in itself. This audio book is to be experienced, not merely for the sake of listening to words and gathering information. I listen to it over and over again and enjoy the experience every time.

Great for where you are with your practice.

Wonderful retreat. Much to open to and with laughter. The recording was what is to be expected with movement going away from the recording device at times. One mans laughter was heard among the rest and it was joyous and did not bother me

Great talk yet crowd has a lot of nervous laughter

Eckhart Tolle's message is great, but you would think the crowd thinks he's Chris Rock as much as they're laughing - it's not that funny people. Particularly this one lady with this cackling laugh - I didn't know Nelson from the Simpsons was into spiritual awakening. I swear she's there so you can practice acceptance of what is.

    Laughing Guy

If you could sum up The Journey Into Yourself in three words, what would they be?

    Powerful - Necessary - Simplistic

What did you like best about this story?

Mr. Tolle does an amazing job of ignoring a man in the back laughing like a laugh track - it is an awesome way for me to practice presence.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I can listen to this over and over as I am driving.
