Publisher's summary
A diamond is a girl’s best friend, but Roy Butler is so much more.
I blog for a living, traveling from place to place and getting paid to do so. It’s a pretty good gig, if you ask me. But, I’ll admit, it’s incredibly hard to find a partner. It’s just one night after another. That gets pretty boring.
That is, until I met Roy Butler. Now, this isn’t the first time I’ve met the billionaire. He almost had me arrested one time. He decided a slap on the wrist was enough.
Things are different this time around. I’ve changed. But he’s just as hot as ever. If I play my cards right, maybe, just maybe, he’ll fall right into my hand. Or will an airport mix-up screw up everything?
Will he trust me, or will he believe the past? In a world filled with rhinestones, will I be the gem to peak his interest? Or will someone else sparkle even brighter?
This is billionaire bad-boy second-chance mystery romance. No cliff-hanger, no cheating, and guaranteed HEA (happily ever after).

This was a cute story for a teen audience. There were too many inconsistencies throughout the story. For instance, Kylie wanted a relationship with him but when one was offered she tried to be coy. The entire story happened in one day. The hero was bipolar with the way his emotions changed. Also, the narration sounds like it was done by a teenager. Her voice was too high pitched and whiny at times. Just

Liked the storyline
Overall I like the storyline & the plot. The narration threw me off a few times & I had to back up to figure out who was actually talking. The narrator’s voice didn’t distinguish between the different characters very much.
There was suspense (which I enjoyed, but I wouldn’t call it a mystery so much). The characters were likable & seemed to have good chemistry.

I received this Audible story at my request in exchange for a honest review. I really wanted to love this story. The beginning wasn't very smooth for me. I think it was mostly the narrator. The energy and peppiness makes me think of a YA (young adult) story or young NA (new adult). From the storyline that didn't fit in my mind. Along with what was happening within the story, I was confused. That lasted for approximately the first third. By the end everything evened out some and end up being okay.
In my opinion there were two problems for me, the narrator didn't depict the roles very well and the use of slang in the story, some of which I didn't completely understand.
I recommend this story for those between the ages of 14 and 30.

Not gonna lie, this story needs some work.
Story starts with heroine having brown eyes with flecks of caramel (ch 2), then in chapter 4 her eyes are green.
She nevers tells her friend what she has, yet he knows.
The story was a bit all over the place. Such as, spoiler alert, I'm gonna bang you but I think we should take things slow, so no, I won't be your girlfriend. Yet she loves him. And after only 24 hrs. And then less than 12 hours after the "No, I won't be your girlfriend." tells him she'll never leave him?!
I think the story was to rushed. And I firmly believe this story could have been really good, if only Alexa would have given it more depth, description, and a longer time frame for everything.
Also, so much of this is unrealistic. (Spoilers) They will not take you (a civilian) back to a jail cell because you want to see someone. They make you sign in for visitation (even attorneys) and that's the only time you are able to see an inmate. (You lawyer is the only one able to see inmate during non-visitation hours.) And in county, or city, jail it's done with a piece of plexiglass between you. [Yes, I have years of experience with this matter. So I know first hand how that works.]
Another example of non-realism, nobody is going to take of running, jump through a window of a 2nd story floor, and then take right off running. Especially not a big guy. He's going to be on the ground for a bit, no matter how much training, or how many times they may have done it. (Which it's never mentioned that he has any experience of doing either, I'm just assuming he would have something considering he's a bad guy.)
Oh, and hero's name goes from Roy to Ray, then back to Roy.
As for narration, some chapters have an echo. Most of others have something faint in the background. I had to keep pausing, and even backing it up, to make sure it wasn't anything in my house.
I also had to back up multiple times because the narrator kept changing the main characters voices and you didn't know who was who.

It was good
The Irresistible Connection was a good story, the book had a great plot with many emotions. Roy and Kylie were great characters, they were good for each other. Their connection was strong and their chemistry was sexy. They were great together.
The Narrator Sierra DuCharme-Hansen did a good job on this story.
Overall, the performance and the story was great.
I enjoyed it. Thanks, Alexa McLean. Great work :)

A fast easy HEA
Although there are some discrepancies in the story, they didn't detract from the story. I found the secondary title "A Billionaire Bad Boy Second Chance Mystery Romance" a bit of a misnomer however, as Roy Butler is not a bad boy, this is not what I'd call a mystery and it's only a second chance because the main characters have met before. But, all that being said, if you're looking for a fast, enjoyable HEA romance, you might enjoy this.
