Gripping story, read well

Great story read very well. The audio version of a 'real page turner'. Quite thought provoking too

A brilliant reading

Edward Hardwicke brings the story alive with a wide selection of voices. Easily the definitive edition of the story.

Not his best.....

Much preferred The Time Machine And War of the Worlds.

This likely had Victorians on the edge of their seats; it isn’t as thrilling or terrifying as the other two famous stories by Wells though.

This presentation is good.

A classic

Struggled to get into it, this was more down to me having to get out of my modem head and back to the time it was written which is very different from modern books. But once it started to pick up I found it very engaging and inventive. Just how everyone thinks they know the stories of Dracula, Frankenstein and Hyde, you really don't until you read the original. It was very much ahead of its time. Wells was the father of sci-fi. Amazingly read by Edward Hardwicke.

Gripping and fascinating

This is the first book by H G Wells that I have listened to. I was very impressed with the book, Wells gives an excellent explanation of optics that gives a plausible explanation of how a man can become invisible. I feel this is much stronger than many modern works of science fiction.
