Great Summation

I needed an INTELLIGENT INVESTOR content reminder & this one was perfect. It outlined each chapter then added a summary of key points. Great breakdown of a low risk, defensive, value investor & how they make investment decisions based on 7 key factors.

You need basic knowledge of financial statements.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Intelligent Investor: The Definitive Book on Value Investing, by Benjamin Graham and Jason Zweig to be better than the print version?

It is better if you have a strong fundamental knowledge of financial statements. The book version is too much of fancy vocabularies.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Intelligent Investor: The Definitive Book on Value Investing, by Benjamin Graham and Jason Zweig?

The whole book is the most memorable. The audio book is short and contains only important key factors.

Have you listened to any of Michael Gilboe’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Nope

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Nope, I can't be emotional. I have to keep calm that's a quality of intelligent investor.

Any additional comments?

If you don't know finance and think this audio book is gonna teach you to be an expert, you are dreaming. Go read ones that you can understand and come back to listen to this audio book again, you'll see the big difference.

If a lot of people understand how it works there wouldn't be much under value stocks left. Try harder so you can accomplish what others can't.

Great for beginners!!!

This book covers all the basics for investing. There is a lot of information packed in this small book and I will recommend it to any future investor. Starting here will save you a lot of money in the long run.

Read the book, you'll only get headlines here.

This audio book will give you only the barest of detail from the book's content. Good to satiate a refresher but not for learning.

Horrible.... Basically just bullet points

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Someone that was going to burn $4 but thought, "Eh, I'll just give it to Audible.com instead."

What do you think your next listen will be?

My television

Would you be willing to try another one of Michael Gilboe’s performances?

I have no idea. The content in this audio book couldn't have been performed well by anyone.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

It used lots of buzzwords

Any additional comments?

This is just bad. It feels like a summary of a summary of common sense. I have flipped through Benjamin Graham's book before and it was much more interesting. The only problem with it was that it was written in an earlier time period so you have to do a bit of interpreting what he said to figure out what he meant. I thought this was going to do that for me but it simply offers buzzwords and basic/common information. It keeps saying key takeaway... blah blah blah.... analysis... blah blah blah.... but without some kind of base information there isn't any content to takeaway from or analyze.

Too short of a summary

This book contains far more knowledge than what is summarized in this takeaway. It has good points but really leaves a lot out. I would highly suggest opting for the full version.

Crap, book title is misleading

This isn’t The Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham. Instead it’s a summary. That’s all well to be a summary except for not being clear on matter.

Ripoff

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

This isn't the real book. It's an "unabridged" summary. Audible's labeling is about as skillful as my football throws.

What could Instaread have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Instaread is fine, but Audible could have avoided tricking me into spending one of my book credits on an "unabridged" 30 minute summary of the real thing. Also, you wasted thirty minutes of my time listening to what sounded like the longest and most boring intro a book has ever had.

What didn’t you like about Michael Gilboe’s performance?

He was fine. Why do these questions assume I disliked every single element of this book? Does one star mean "there was literally nothing about this book that I enjoyed"?

What character would you cut from The Intelligent Investor: The Definitive Book on Value Investing, by Benjamin Graham and Jason Zweig?

"What character would you cut from The Intelligent Investor: The Definitive Book on Value Investing, by Benjamin Graham and Jason Zweig?"
Apparently Audible's question writers only read fiction.

Any additional comments?

Umm... no. My thoughts can be summarized as:

1. Don't falsely advertise summaries as "unabridged" summaries to trick people into buying 30 minute long books. What is that, like 3 pages? The brochure for my local Subway is longer.

2. Try to make your "guided review" questions here feel less like a random word generator trying to pass the Turing test and more like a review form. A contextually relevant set of questions could be cool, but perhaps you should go back to a simple form until Audible's Siri here realizes that some books don't have "characters".

lacking

this book is way too short for the minimal information it provides as well as the lack of quality information
