Publisher's summary

Please Note: The audio has been updated for better sound quality.

This audiobook was created based on Clayton Christensen's landmark book The Innovator's Dilemma. This was Mr. Christensen's synopsis of his book for the Harvard Business Review. The audio tracks listed here cover the key elements of Mr. Christensen's book. This audiobook emphasizes the Idea in Brief "Does my organization have the right resources, processes, values, and team to innovate?" Then it covers the right structure for your specific type of innovation. He identifies where capabilities reside, in resources, processes, and values. He then addresses the migration of capabilities, illustrates it with the example of Digital Equipment (DEC), defines sustaining versus disruptive innovation, how to create capabilities to cope with change - internally, in a spinout, or an acquisition - and how to fit the tool to the task.

bad audio quality

Good narrator, but bad audio quality. Disapointing in that sense. The audiobook is a summary.

Useful information, poorly read.

Useful information, poorly read. The reader was dry and prepared and sometimes difficult to understand.

Only slightly helpful

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

No, the recording was so poorly done that it is distracting.

What didn’t you like about Deaver Brown’s performance?

He has poor tone and voice inflection. Clearly not done in a sound studio or with a halfway decent microphone.

Not so impressive!

The voice quality is not so crisp and clear. The way the narrator speaks makes the end of the sentence difficult to understand and comprehend.

Terrible Quality

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I guess its a good summary of the full book, but the audio quality and narration are terrible. It reminds of me of a podcast, yet even those have better quality. I know this was a cheap download, but I was a little surprised to Audible let this one through. Maybe if you need a refresher on The Innovators Dilemma listen to this, but otherwise stay away.

Handsouts are missing

My main point is that while listening to a business book, sometimes it can be beneficial to have handouts of models or diagrams related to in the book.

Bad voice

This was my first bad book. I though I had the full version, instead it was a outline. Speaker had an unpleasant voice and gasped.

Poor audio quality and unprofessional

I thought this book was very poorly done. Sounds like a good book though so I will keep my eyes out for another version. Maybe I will ask audible for a refund on this one.

poor quality summary only

Would you try another book from Clayton Christensen and/or Deaver Brown?

This is incredibly poor quality recording and a summary only of a great book.
Sounds like recorded in a bathroom, when you can hear computer's fan and the narrator clicking a mouse, some weird background noise. The narrator seems to read it without much understanding and preparation. Avoid!
