No less than three different people have claimed to be its author and confided this intelligence to one of my friends “in the know”, who, with considerable amusement, passed it on to me without, I may add, divulging their names; neither did he inform them of the identity of the real author.

I loved the story

I learned a-lot from this book; the story was intriguing. However, the narrator could have sounded a bit more energetic and enthusiastic I found his tone and narration to be a bit monotonous. Regardless the wisdom that’s been shared through him is profound and I’m grateful to have came across this piece.

Don’t get this book and wish I had these hours back

First of all, the narrator of this book was painful. It was a slow, stoner-ish drawl that I had to speed up to 1.3x to make it tolerable.

And even though I though of aborting this book multiple times, I forged ahead for some reason. The story wasn’t interesting and was bizarrely lame. It was anything but enlightening or wise. It sounded like it was written by an 80-something man who spoke of the women he met at every moment, and felt it necessary to talk about the looks of each woman he encounters (weird) and if he was attracted to her or not.
3 hours in there were a few interesting perspectives on karma. But that was it.

I don’t know if I was referred this book or how it got it my library but it hilarious to me that the writer says others have tried to take credit for writing it. Why on earth would anyone do that?
