Jim Brown, and his partner, Abby Smyth, have spent their three year partnership in the Homicide Department without disagreement, until now. The turns and twists involved in this case involving three murders, artifact theft, and embezzelment, have thrown them off course, not only in their theories but in their personal relationship as well. Their first encounter of the drugged out and beat up Beatrice was thought to be a deal gone bad but it turned into a much more complicated series of events than they had expected. Their investigation took them through the dark alleys of Tampa, Florida to the wide open spaces of Guntersville, Alabama. It wasn't untile the last piece of the puzzle fell into place that they finally discovered the truth... almost.
