Publisher's summary

With magic, nothing's impossible.

Everyone knew it was impossible for men to do magic, until it happened.

Conryu Koda is a young man of modest ambition. All he wants is to work on bikes and practice Kung Fu. His modest dreams die on the day of The Testing when it's revealed he has wizard potential.

When the Department of Magic announces that a male wizard has been found it draws the attention of the Le Fay Society, a radical group of wizards that view men as little better than animals and Conryu as an abomination. The Society will stop at nothing to see Conryu dead.

great story.... narrator need training

the story was great. good plot and characters, but the narrator has one voice and doesn't put any inflection on anything.

Good story, performance ruined it for me.

The story was well enough but I couldn’t differentiate from who was talking. Could of been a great book if the narrator would have been more committed to delivering a good performance.

sidetracked

I can only give this book 3 and 1/2 Stars hopefully the second book will have the main character and not be sidetracked it again. and hopefully the main character will get more enthusiastic about being a mage.

The Dresden Files for 9 year olds

I was looking for some books to replace the Dresden Files or The Iron Druid and stumbled across this series. it sounded like an interesting concept and the characters are not too bad the problem is the writer struggles to make the story so safe for very young readers that it becomes ridiculous. unless you're under 12 don't waste your time

Exciting concept

The story caught me from the very first sentence. I enjoyed the characters and the narration was wonderful.

great story. Merlin lives

good story, I like that the MC is not a weakling but has good skills.lots of potential to mix magical abilties with physical fighting. narrator did very well. good range dealing with Male and female voices.

good story, bad narrator

I really enjoyed these books, although I will admit that the first book should really probably be half of the first book. The narrator on the other hand should be replaced.

Is this a story about ryou or whatever his name is

Was this book about the side characters???? Cause I know more about them than I do about ryou or whatever his name is, i don’t even remember his name? What does that say about this book,

Overall not the greatest, a little difficult to finish and boring

OKAY BOOK.

The first few chapters were interesting as it focussed on the main character, Conryu Koda and how he was tested to have magic. The later part of book seems to be more on the other secondary characters and Conryu seemed to be out of the picture. Anyway since this is the first book in the series I will try the second book which is currently available and I hope the story will have more of Conryu.
